Common problems with the AAW file.
The network of NGOs for which AAW acts as an umbrella, currently comprises 350 Egyptian NGOs from all over the Egypt.

In cooperation with the UNOG United Nations Centre for Human Rights, AAW organized a regional conference on the theme"Violence against women: dimensions and consequences" held in Cairo.
AAW provides services and programs that furnish women with basic security and safety in accordance with the complete framework of human rights.
In cooperation with the Flying Club in Cairo andAl Ahrar newspaper, AAW participated in a festival to encourage girls to enrol in non-traditional sports, such as skydiving and parachute jumping.

The Disablement Benefits(Selfemployed Persons) Act(WAZ) and the Disablement Assistance(Young Disabled Persons) Act(WAJONG) came into force on 1 January 1998,replacing the General Disablement Pensions Act AAW.
In this aspect, AAW did the following:(a) Trained 3000 women in different industries, mainly weaving, shoemaking, handcrafts, and carpet weaving.
At Porsche, however, JWA Gulf, KG Salzburg who were then replaced by Martini Racing for the following season,received all direct factory support and the privateers like AAW Shell Racing and David Piper Racing received a much better support than Ferrari's clients.

Before June 2004, two independent organizations- AFP/AAW and Manifestación Ciclonudista- had been organising very similar political events with virtually identical messages of protesting oil dependency.
AAW led a four-year campaign to support the appointment of the first woman judge in Egypt, as well as a number of other legal initiatives in support of women's rights in such areas as family law and nationality law.

AAW has been always keen to participate in different relevant meetings and seminars tackling different issues related to Women and Development, and to update and brief its members, partners, and beneficiaries about new trends, discussions, and models regarding empowering women.
AAW participated in the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly; the 2001 session of the Commission on the Status of Women; the International Conference on Volunteerism, held in Geneva in November 2001; and a Millennium Development Goals meeting held in Cairo in August 2002.
Also through AAW support, 12 NGOs in 12 governorates have started service projects to help improve poor women's living conditions by teaching them new crafts or to engage their talents in creating products and traditional crafts; providing literary and other education; and health-care services.
