I would also like to wish Ambassador Sir Michael Weston every success and welcome the new ambassadors from New Zealand and Chile.
Mr. NASSERI(Islamic Republic of Iran):I appreciate your clarifications as well as the clarifications presented by Ambassador Sir Michael Weston.
I would like to express our sincere appreciation to the President of the Council, Ambassador Sir Emyr Jones Parry, for his clear and capable introduction of the report.
In that context, my delegation would like to commend the highly valuable work of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, under the very able leadership of Ambassador Sir Jeremy Greenstock.
My delegation would like to thank Ambassador Sir Jeremy Greenstock of the United Kingdom, President of the Council for the month of October 1998, for introducing the report.
The special contribution andrelentless efforts of the Counter-Terrorism Committee under the able chairmanship of Ambassador Sir Jeremy Greenstock were highlighted.
I would also like to thank Ambassador Sir Mark Lyall Grant, current President of the Council, for his presentation of the annual report of that body(A/65/2) at the 48th meeting.
On my list of speakers today I have the representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain andNorthern Ireland, Ambassador Sir Michael Weston, and the representative of Ukraine, Ambassador Maimeskul.
As you know, Ambassador Sir Michael Weston is leaving this Conference after having represented his Government here for over five years with distinction and a consummate sense of humour.
Ms. Ochir(Mongolia): At the outset,I would like to thank the President of the Security Council, Ambassador Sir Mark Lyall Grant, for presenting the report of the Security Council, contained in document A/65/2.
I would also like to thank Ambassador Sir Mark Lyall Grant for introducing the document, as well as all the Security Council members for their intense activity during the reporting period.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Ambassador Sir Emyr Jones Parry, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom and current President of the Security Council, for his comprehensive presentation of the report of the Council A/59/2.
In addition, the Council was briefed on the activities of the United Nations Peace-building Office in the Central African Republic and, at a public meeting,it heard a comprehensive briefing on the mission to West Africa in June 2004 led by Ambassador Sir Emyr Jones Parry.
We should like to thank the President of the Council, Ambassador Sir Emyr Jones Parry, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations, for his clear and comprehensive introduction of the report.
Interestingly, even before resolution 1327(2000) was adopted, a private meeting was held with the troop contributors to UNAMSIL, on 4 October 2000, to seek their views before theSecurity Council Mission to Sierra Leone, led by Ambassador Sir Jeremy Greenstock of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, travelled to Sierra Leone.
Mr. Baali(Algeria)(spoke in French): I would like very sincerely to thank Ambassador Sir Emyr Jones Parry for his excellent presentation of the report of the Security Council to the General Assembly A/59/2.
I also wish to thank His Excellency Ambassador Sir Mark Lyall Grant, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom and President of the Security Council for the month of November, for introducing this morning the annual report of the Council(A/65/2), prepared by Nigeria, on the state of play in the Council see A/65/PV.48.
