Mr. Kaiser(Czech Republic):Let me start by thanking the current President of the Security Council, Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, the Permanent Representative of Austria, for his presentation of the report of the Security Council A/64/2.
On 15 September, Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, Chair of the Committee established pursuant to resolution 1591(2005) concerning the Sudan, updated the Council on the Committee's activities over the past 90 days.
On 15 September and 15 December 2009 and on 4 March and 10 June 2010, respectively, during consultations of the whole,the representative of Austria, Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, in his capacity as Chair of the Committee established pursuant to resolution 1591(2005), presented to Council members the 90-day reports on the work of the Committee.
The Philippines thanks Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting of Austria for introducing the annual report of the Security Council(A/64/2) and congratulates the Austrian presidency on its able and dynamic stewardship of the Council for the month of November 2009.

At the same meeting,speaking under agenda item 11, Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, Permanent Representative of Austria in New York, and Ambassador Jairo Hernandez-Milian, Deputy Permanent Representative of Costa Rica in New York, presented progress reports on the cooperation activities of their countries to facilitate the entry into force of the Treaty, pursuant to measure 11(c) of the 2007 Final Declaration, and on the 2009 International Scientific Studies Conference in Vienna 10-12 June 2009.
The Chair of the Committee established pursuant to resolution 1267(1999),the Permanent Representative of Austria, Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, briefed the Council about the status of the implementation of resolution 1822(2008), in particular the status of the review of all entries in the Consolidated List and the publication of narrative summaries of reasons for listing.
The Chairman of the Committee, Ambassador Thomas MayrHarting(Austria), briefed the Council on the implementation of the Committee's mandate specified in resolution 1591 2005.
The Permanent Representative of Austria and Chairman of the Committee established pursuant to resolution 1267(1999), Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, reported on methods to update the listing and de-listing of individuals and entities, in accordance with the directives contained in Council resolutions 1822(2008) and 1904(2009), to ensure that the consolidated list remained dynamic and reflected current threats.
At the outset,I would like to thank Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, Permanent Representative of Austria and current President of the Security Council, for his detailed presentation of the report of the Council.
While I once again thank Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, I believe that there is room for improvement in these areas.
The meeting will be co-chaired by Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting(Austria), President of the Council for November 2009, and Ambassador Le Luong Minh(Viet Nam), President of the Council for October 2009.
