They reiterated their grave concern and strong condemnations regarding Israel's intensive colonization measures,including its continued vast land confiscations and the construction and expansion of settlements, and condemned Israel's declared intentions to carry out the illegal E-1 plan in and around East Jerusalemand to illegally annex the Jordan Valley.
Expressing grave concern in particular about Israel's construction and expansion of settlements in and around occupied East Jerusalem, including its socalled E-1 plan that aims to connect its illegal settlements around and further isolate occupied East Jerusalem, the continuing demolition of Palestinian homes and eviction of Palestinian families from the city, the revocation of Palestinian residency rights in the city, and ongoing settlement activities in the Jordan Valley.
Expressing grave concern about the continuation by Israel, the occupying Power, of settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in violation of international humanitarian law, relevant United Nations resolutions and the agreements reached between the parties, and concerned particularly about Israel's construction and expansion of settlements in and around Occupied East Jerusalem, including its so-called E1 plan, aimed at connecting its illegal settlements around and further isolating Occupied East Jerusalem, and in the Jordan Valley.
They affirmed that such illegal measures,including in particular the construction and expansion of settlements and the Wall, the confiscation of Palestinian land and the displacement of the Palestinian civilian population by other illegal means, are totally contradictory to the peace process and must be ceased completely for the resumption of credible peace negotiations.
At the same time, Israel continues to aggressively pursue its illegal colonization campaign in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem,through the unlawful confiscation of land, construction and expansion of settlements, transfer of hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlersand construction of the Wall, which is directly linked to the settlements and intended to protect them and facilitate their expansion and entrenchment, as well as by numerous other illegal measures.
That campaign includes ongoing illegal confiscation of Palestinian land, the construction and expansion of settlements and outposts, the transfer of hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlers, the construction of the wall, the establishment of a bypass road system prohibited to Palestinians and intended to connect the settlements to each other and to Israel and numerous other illegal measures.
The occupying Power continues to unlawfully confiscate Palestinian land from its rightful owners and to destroy Palestinian homes and properties to facilitate its illegal construction and expansion of settlements, to which hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlers have beenand continue to be illegally transferred, and its illegal construction of the wall inside the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including in and around Occupied East Jerusalem.
The Ministers condemned Israel's intensifying land confiscations; construction and expansion of settlements, settlement"outposts" and related infrastructure; transfer of more Israeli settlers; construction of the Wall; home demolitions; excavations; and imposition of arbitrary, racist residency and movement restrictions via a permit regime and hundreds of checkpoints.
The Meeting called on Israel to immediately cease all settlement activities,including planning, construction and expansion of settlements, including"natural growth" and transfer of settlers,and the construction of the Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and that it dismantle all such illegal structures in accordance with its international legal obligations.
The announcement of such plans by the Israeli Government, and its continued construction and expansion of settlements and of the Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory are not only indicative of Israel's absolute disdain for the norms and laws that civilized nations live by and honour, but also exposes the occupying Power's intentions to sabotage all efforts to revive the peace process.
