In the CIS, measures to reduce environmental damage are aimed at controlling harmful emissions from transport equipment through legislation stipulating maximum emission levels and imposing mandatory vehicle testing and, in the case of Belarus, by acceding to conventions adopted at the Regional Conference on Transport and the Environment.
