This amendment introduces a general prohibition on the sale, supply,transfer or export of arms and related materiel to Côte d'Ivoire as well as a ban on related brokering services.
In accordance with paragraphs 9, 10 and 18 of resolution 1874(2009), Belgium has legislation requiring that an export licence be obtained for any supply, sale,transfer or export of arms and related materiel to third countries.

In accordance with paragraphs 5 and 6 of resolution 1747(2007) Belgium has legislation requiring export licences for any sale, supply,transfer or export of arms and related materiel to third countries.
The law stipulates export authorization requirements for the sale, supply,transfer or export of arms and related materiel to third countries,and authorization requirements for services related to military activities.
In accordance with paragraphs 9, 10 and 18 of resolution 1874(2009), Luxembourg has legislation requiring that an export licence be obtained for any supply, sale,transfer or export of arms and related materiel to third countries.
Prior to the entry into force of the amendment the prohibition on the sale, supply,transfer or export of arms and related materiel to Côte d'Ivoire is implemented by not granting the necessary export licences.
Concerning the arms embargo, Italy also announces that, since the adoption of resolution 1572(2004), the relevant Italian authority for arms control has not granted any authorization for the sale,supply, transfer or export of arms and related materiel of all types to Côte d'Ivoire.
The Committee received two notifications, in accordance with paragraph 4 of resolution 1171(1998), on the export of arms and related materiel to Sierra Leone, both of which it subsequently reported to the Security Council in accordance with that paragraph.
These included a ban on the export of arms and related materiel from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the designation of additional persons as subject to the assets freeze and to the travel measures, and the designation of additional entities as subject to the assets freeze.
The Law, which was adopted on 21 June 2007, stipulates export authorization requirements for the sale, supply,transfer or export of arms and related materiel to third countries,and authorization requirements for services related to military activities.
These included a ban on the export of arms and related materiel from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the designation of additional persons as subject to the assets freeze and to the travel notification requirement, and the designation of additional entities as subject to the assets freeze.
By paragraph 11 of that resolution, the Committee is required to report to the Council on notifications received from States on the export of arms and related matériel to Rwanda, as well as notifications of imports of arms and related matériel made by the Government of Rwanda.

Letter dated 29 May(S/1996/396) from the Chairman of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 918(1994) concerning Rwanda addressed to the President of the Security Council, reporting, in accordance with Council resolution 1011(1995),on a notification received from a State on the export of arms and related matériel to Rwanda.
Pursuant to paragraph 4 of resolution 1171(1998), the Committee reported to the Council on 29 April 2002(S/2002/498),on notifications received from States on the export of arms and related materiel to Sierra Leone as well as for deployment with the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone UNAMSIL.
Denmark has the following national legislation requiring an authorization for the export of arms and related materiel to other countries than Denmarkand an authorization for the provision of brokering services, which, together with Council Decision 2011/137/CFSP, provides the basis for enforcement of the arms embargo against Libya and the ban on related brokering services.
Requests the Secretary-General to report to the Council within 3 months of the date of adoption of this resolution, and again within 6 months, regarding,in particular, the export of arms and related matériel referred to in paragraph 2 above,and on progress made towards the objectives referred to in paragraph 7 above;
The export of arms and related material of all types, including the provisions of spare parts and technical advice, assistance or training-related military activities(paragraph 2(c) of resolution 1390(2002) and paragraph 1 of resolution 1455(2003)) is regulated by Law No. 3763 regarding the Control of Private Industrial Enterprises Producing War Weapons, Vehicles, Equipment and Ammunition.
In paragraph 11 of that resolution, the Committee is required to report to the Council on notifications received from States on the export of arms and related matériel to Rwanda as well as notifications of imports of arms and related matériel made by the Government of Rwanda.
With respect to the renewal, under paragraph 1 of resolution 1857(2008), of the measures on arms imposed by paragraph 1 of resolution 1807(2008), Belgium has legislation requiring that an export licence be obtained for any supply, sale,transfer or export of arms and related materiel to third countries.
In paragraph 11 of that resolution,the Committee is required to report to the Council on notifications received from States on the export of arms and related matériel to Rwanda as well as notifications of imports of arms and related matériel made by the Government of Rwanda.
In order to implement effectively the provisions of paragraph 8 of resolution 1718(2006) as well as paragraphs 9 and 10 and the financial measures set out in paragraphs 18, 19 and 20 of resolution 1874(2009), Portugal has taken concrete measures prohibiting the sale, supply,transfer or export of arms and related material to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
In paragraph 4 of the resolution, the Committee is required to report to the Council on notifications received from States on the export of arms and related materiel to Sierra Leone, as well as on notifications of the import of arms and related materiel made by the Government of Sierra Leone.
Moreover, the amended Act of 5 August 1963 concerning the import, export and transit of goods and related technology and the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 31 October 1995 on the import, export and transit of arms, munitions and equipment specifically intended for military use and related technology provide that an export authorization is required for the sale, supply,transfer or export of arms and related materiel.
In paragraph 4 of the resolution,the Committee is required to report to the Council on notifications received from States on the export of arms and related materiel to Sierra Leone, as well as on notification of imports of arms and related materiel made by the Government of Sierra Leone.
Furthermore, in accordance with the amended Act of 5 August 1963 regulating the import, export and transit of goods and related technology and with the Grand Ducal Regulation of 31 October 1995 related to the import, export and transit of arms, ammunition and materiel specially designed for military use, and of related technology, an export licence is mandatory for the sale, supply,transfer or export of arms and related materiel.
Belgium wishes to highlight that, on 23 December 2013,the Council of the European Union adopted decision 2013/798/CFSP prohibiting the export of arms and related materiel from the European Union to the Central African Republic in order to implement fully Security Council resolution 2127(2013) of 5 December 2013 in the European Union.
A prohibition on the supply,delivery or export of arms and related materiel to Usama bin Laden, members of the Al-Qa'ida organisationand the Taliban and other individuals and entities associated with them, including the provision of spare parts and technical advice, assistance or training related to military activities is contained within the provisions of The Al-Qa'ida and Taliban( United Nations Measures) Order 2002( SI 2002/111) which came into force on 25 January 2002.
