To date, the informal intersessional meetings have been open only to the representatives of Governments.

In our view,these should include both formal meetings of States at least every two years and informal intersessional meetings to bring States together more frequently so that important thematic work can continue to be undertaken between formal meetings of States.

At its last plenary meeting, on 5 September 2014, the Meeting decided to convene a two-day informal intersessional meeting in Geneva on 1 and 2 June 2015.
The Meeting decided that the informal intersessional meeting should be held in English, French and Spanish and supported through voluntary funding.
The Chairperson-Rapporteur also reported on the informal intersessional meeting of the Working Group, which was held on 18 and 19 April 2013, pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 21/32.
The Meeting agreed that an interim informal intersessional meeting would take place in Geneva, Switzerland from 27 to 30 June, 2011.
