Experiences of intergovernmental organizations and other bodies in monitoring and evaluating capacity-building were discussed during an expert meeting organized in November 2008 by the secretariat in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The United Nations,the relevant specialized agencies and intergovernmental organizations and other relevant bodies must make every effort with a view to promoting measures to combat and eliminate acts of terrorismand to strengthening their role in this field;

She therefore recommends that seminars or workshops be organized soon under United Nations auspices, hosted by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and convening as wide a range of participants as possible,including regional intergovernmental organizations and other institutional bodies.
Seven representatives of intergovernmental organizations and other relevant bodies made short presentations on sharing of good experiencesand lessons learned in relation to inclusion with diversity in policing.
In order to pursue effectively its mandate to elaborate detailed, as well as comprehensive, guidelines, it is important that the Sub-Commission working group be able to exchange information, views, experiences and legal approaches with the above-mentioned intergovernmental organizations and other institutional bodies.
The Secretary-General was requested to submit a comprehensive report to the Commission at its fifty-fourth session on the implementation of that resolution, including information received from organs and bodies of the United Nations system,Member States, intergovernmental organizations and other concerned bodies.
