Adoption of the agenda of the regular session of the Commission on Population and Development and other organizational matters.
The close link between population and development and other fundamental elements- such as human rights, gender equity, social development, health, education and support for the family as a basic unit of society- have made them into key actions and ongoing concerns for our Government.
In the preparation of the general recommendation, the Beijing Platform for Action,the report of the International Conference on Population and Development and other relevant documents would be used.
In accordance with the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and other United Nations documents, eliminate all forms of exploitation, abuse, harassmentand violence against women, adolescents and girls;

As part of its work to monitor the implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and other internationally agreed development goals related to population, the Population Division launched in 2008 the Tenth United Nations Inquiry among Governments on Population and Development. .
In particular, there is a need for robust data from which to compile indicators to track progress towards the achievement of International Conference on Population and Development and other important development goals.
In response to a question from the representative of Bahrain regarding the cooperation between the Commission on Population and Development and other functional commissions, it was mentioned that commission secretariats located in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs coordinated closely on issues of common concern.
The database has been an important tool for monitoring progress in the implementation of the Programme of Action of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development and other internationally agreed development goals.
In order to monitor the implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and other internationally agreed development goals that are related to population, including the relevant Millennium Development Goals, the Population Division launched, in 2008, the United Nations Tenth Inquiry among Governments on Population and Development. .
The subprogramme will facilitate progress in the implementation of the recommendations of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and other intergovernmental decisions related to population. .
Commends UNFPA for its commitment and continued efforts in meeting the targets of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and other internationally agreed development goals, especially the health-related Millennium Development Goals,and calls upon the Executive Director to further intensify efforts in programme countries that are having problems in meeting those goals and targets;
More than 15 countries are in the process of formulating orreviewing their national population policies to include recommendations of the International Conference on Population and Development and other relevant international conferences.
Once put to use,the new system will enable users to monitor the implementation of the plans of actions emanating from the International Conference on Population and Development and other global conferences, in terms of population size and distribution; fertility and reproductive health; mortality and morbidity; gender equity and empowerment of women; and resource mobilization and partnership with the civil society.
The indicators pertaining to these areas will serve as a guide to assist countries in monitoring their progress in achieving the goals agreed to at the International Conference on Population and Development and other recent United Nations conferences.
Expressing its gratitude for her outstanding leadership in advancing the goals of the International Conference on Population and Development and other internationally agreed development goals, including those contained in the Millennium Declaration;
The meetings will provide input to an Arab conference on integrated follow-up to global conferences, to be held in 1999, as well as to the international review and appraisal process for the International Conference on Population and Development and other conferences.
To show where countries are at the present time and where they should aim to be in the future in the light of the goals agreed upon at the International Conference on Population and Development and other United Nations conferences, the wall chart provides country data in six key areas: population; primary health care; nutrition; basic education; drinking water and sanitation; and shelter.

Requests the Director of the Population Division to consult with the members of the Commission with respect to the above-mentioned reappraisal, and fully supports the need to protect the long-term work programme, including both traditional demographic work and the development of innovative approaches to meeting new demands following the outcomes of the International Conference on Population and Development and other recent major United Nations conferences.
Recognize that timeliness in the payment of contributions is essential to maintaining liquidity and facilitating continuous programme implementation to assist countries in achieving the goals of the International Conference on Population and Development and other internationally agreed goals, including the Millennium Development Goals; as well as for UNFPA engagement in all relevant processes and activities relating to the post-2015 development agenda.
Throughout the region, we continue to experience a lack of political will and commitment on the part of Governments in developing and implementing policies addressing the priorities underlined in the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and other international commitments.
More than 17 countries are in the process of formulating/reviewing their national population policies in line with recommendations of the International Conference on Population and Development and other relevant international and regional conferences.
The Commission fully supported the need to protect the long-term work programme of the Population Division, including both traditional demographic work and the development of innovative approaches to meeting new demands, following the outcomes of the International Conference on Population and Development and other recent major United Nations conferences.
More than 15 countries are in the process of formulating orreviewing their national population policies to include recommendations of the International Conference on Population and Development and other relevant internationaland regional conferences.
Thus, the United Nations resident coordinator system is encouraged to share all the end products of the Task Force with national counterparts, bilateral agencies, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations and the private sector, and to seek their collaboration in activities focusing on achieving the goals of the International Conference on Population and Development and other recent United Nations global conferences.
Increased technical capacity of ECLAC member States to monitor progress in the implementation of the recommendations and goals of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and other international agreements related to those issues.
The work programme for the biennium 2000-2001 was formulated and implemented within the basic framework set forth in the medium-term plan for the period 2000-2001, taking into account the recommendations of theInternational Conference on Population(1994), the twenty-first special session of the General Assembly on key actions for the further implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, and other relevant international conferences.
Increased technical capacity of Latin American and Caribbean countries to monitor and implement the recommendations and goals of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and other international agreements related to those issues.
