Recalls resolution 2093(2013) adopted by the United Nations Security Council on 6 March 2013, requesting, notably, the United Nations Secretary-General to keep the situation in Somalia under review, including through the setting of benchmarks for the establishment of a United Nations peacekeeping operation, as well as the Security Council's presidential statement of 6 June 2013(S/PRST/2013/7), welcoming the intention of the United Nations Secretariat to conduct a joint review of AMISOM with AU, and emphasizing the importance of both organizations working closely together in this exercise;
The European Union therefore fully supports the Security Council's presidential statement of 24 January 1994(S/PRST/1994/4) calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Afghanistan and the beginning of a political process to create a broad-based Government acceptable to the Afghan people.

In this regard, and in accordance with the Security Council's presidential statement of 22 October 2010(S/PRST/2010/21), the United Nations and African Union undertook a joint lessons learned workshop in November 2010 to discuss positive experiences, best practices, challenges and gaps in respect of the provision of the light and heavy support packages for the African Union Mission in Somalia(AMIS), logistical and technical support for AMISOM and the collaboration that has taken place under the UNAMID hybrid structure.
