Completion and submission of the fishing logbook.
Simplified weekly fishing logbook for vessels under 10 metres.
The quantities of each species recorded in the fishing logbook;
The fishing logbook referred to in paragraph 1 shall contain in particular the following information.
Total weight by species landed ortranshipped(reference No 19 paper in paper fishing logbook);
Electronic transmission of the fishing logbook of the originating vessel to the flag Member State.
Measurement unit for landed ortranshipped quantities(reference No 18 in paper fishing logbook);
Presentation of fish(reference No 17 in paper fishing logbook) using the codes in table 1 of Annex I(M);
Signature and name and address of the agent andthe observer where applicable(reference No 21 in paper fishing logbook);
Masters of Union fishing vessels shall also record in their fishing logbook all estimated discards in volume for any species.".
We noted that France andScotland required vessels under 10 metres long to complete a simplified form of the fishing logbook.
Quantities by species of herring, mackerel, horse mackerel andblue whiting recorded in the fishing logbook and the quantities recorded in the landing declaration;
(c) lists the conversion factors used to convert production weight of each product type into live weight when recorded in the fishing logbook;
The permitted margin of tolerance in estimates recorded in the fishing logbook of the quantities in kilograms of fish retained on board shall be 10% for all species.
To that end,all changes from the mesh size previously used as well as the catch composition on board at the moment of any such change shall be entered into the fishing logbook.
Masters of Community fishing vessels shall also record in their fishing logbook all estimated discards above 50 kg of live-weight equivalent in volume for any species.

(24)Similarly, it is necessary to extend the use of fishing logbook as requested by Article 14 of Regulation(EC) 1224/2009 to vessels of an overall length equal to or greater than eight metres.
Where the fishing vessel enters an effort zone in which it is likely to carry out fishing activities,an additional line shall be completed in the paper fishing logbook or an electronic declaration shall be completed.
The following additional information shall be recorded in fishing logbook by masters of Union fishing vessels for the time spent in fisheries subject to fishing effort regimes.
Where an authorized fishing vessel crosses an effort zone without carrying out fishing activities in that zone,an additional line shall be completed in the paper fishing logbook or an electronic declaration shall be completed.
In order to make use of modern technologies,for fishing vessels of 12 metres' length overall or more, the fishing logbook should be in electronic form and the landing and transhipment declarations should be submitted electronically.(18) The information contained in the fishing logbooks of fishing vessels should be verified at the time of landing.
Where the vessel leaves an effort zone in which it has carried out fishing activities and where the vessel enters another effort zone in which it intends to carry out fishing activities,an additional line shall be completed in the paper fishing logbook or an electronic declaration shall be completed.
In order to make use of modern technologies,for fishing vessels of 12 metres' length overall or more, the fishing logbook should be in electronic form and the landing and transhipment declarations should be submitted electronically.
(b) enter and sign a notation in the fishing logbook or other relevant document of the inspected vessel indicating the date, geographical coordinates, and nature of the infringement, make a copy of any relevant entry and request that the master of the vessel sign each page to verify that it is a true copy of the original;
The certification for products and goods transhipped andtransported through a third country shall be made on a printout of the fishing logbook referred to in Article 133 of Delegated Regulation(EU) 2015/2446, accompanied by a printout of the transhipment declaration, as appropriate.
The fishing logbook or the transhipment declaration of the receiving vessel shall include, in addition to the information listed in paragraph 1(b) and(c), the name, flag state, registration number and full name of the master of the Union fishing vessel or Union factory ship from which the products or goods were transhipped.
(ii) where the inspector estimates the quantity of catch on board to be different from the quantity of catch recorded in the fishing logbook, in which case the inspector will limit the inspection to one additional hour with a view to verifying calculations and procedures, and re-examining the relevant documentation used to calculate the catch taken in the Regulatory Area and the catch on board the vessel;
