The Commissioner organized this educative seminar in cooperation with the Higher Magistrate's Court of the Republic of Serbia and the Magistrate's Court of Belgrade. The Information Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic said that, besides electing the Commissioner, the state has not done all that was necessary for the implementation of the Free Access to Information Act, although the legislation was brought four months ago.

They addressed the outstanding issues regarding the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information of public Importance and the Law on Personal Data Protection, as well as the issue of amendments to the CoE Convention on Access to Official Documents. In this context, Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic said.
Razgovor koji su vodili odnosio se na otvorena pitanja primene Zakona o slobodnom pristupu informacijama od javnog značaja i Zakona o zaštiti podataka o ličnosti, kao i na pitanje ratifikacije Konvencije Saveta Evrope o pristupu službenim dokumentima. S tim u vezi poverenik Rodoljub Šabić je izjavio i sledeće.

Sabic said that because of all this he welcomed announcement of the Ministry of Culture that it would institute infringement proceedings against responsible persons in all public authorities which did not submit annual reports on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information to the Commissioner.
Šabić kaže da je zbog svega ovoga pozdravio najavu Ministarstva kulture da će pokrenuti prekršajne postupke protiv odgovornih lica u svim organima vlasti koji povereniku nisu dostavili godišnji izveštaj o primeni Zakona o slobodnom pristupu informacijama.

The Public Information Commissioner Rodoljub Sabic said the vast number of complaints he had received was regarding the reluctance of the administrative bodies to provide information to citizens.
Rasprava o primeni Zakona o slobodnom pristupu informacijama od javnog značaja održana je povodom Svetskog dana prava javnosti da zna, a poverenik za informacije Rodoljub Šabić je izjavio da se najveći broj žalbi koje je njegova kancelarija primila odnosi na ćutanje administracije povodom različitih zahteva da obezbedi uvid u pojedine podatke u vezi sa svojim radom.

In this occasion, the Commissioner, Rodoljub Sabic said:"Such a provision in the field of foreign investments completely excludes public access, which certainly may as a consequence result in numerous principal and practical problems. The implementation of a Law of the Republic of Serbia is thus subject to the will of every individual foreign investor, offering more rights to foreign than to domestic legal and natural persons.
