In the first week of November 2016, she was featured on the cover page of Indian weekly magazine Panchjanya(magazine).[7] In December 2016,she received Brij Ratna Award, the highest award of Brij region of Uttar Pradesh.[8].
In 2011,the Akademi awarded her the Sangeet Natak Akademi Tagore Ratna, given to 100 artists from across India to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, for their contribution in the field of performing arts.[6][7].
Ganesh Man Singh was born on November 9, 1915[3] in Itum Bahal, Kathmandu. His father was Gyan Man Singh and mother Sanunani Shrestha Singh. His father died when he was young,so his grandfather, Ratna Man Singh(who was Badakaji in Rana regime), raised him.
His poetic works include: Anurag ratna, Shankar saroj, Garbhranda rahasya, Gitavali, Kavita kunj, Doha, Samasyapurtiyan, Vividh rachnayen, Kalit kalewar and Shankar satsai. Influenced by the Arya Samaj movement, he was a social reformer who used his mastery of language effectively to this purpose.[1].
She refused to accept the Padma Bhushan award, declaring,"it is an insult, not an honor," and as a report from the Press Trust of India quotedher saying:"is this government not aware of my contribution to Kathak? I will not accept any award less than Bharat Ratna."[10].

He published several books in Hindi language which included Yada rahi mulakatem[5] and Bacapana ki batem.[6] The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1967, for his contributions to literature and journalism.[7] Jain,who was also a recipient of the Sahitya Ratna Award(1970), died on 31 March 1993, at the age of 78.[8].

In 1965, he won the first prize in The All India Radio music competition, and was awarded the President's Gold Medal.[citation needed] In 1970, the Emperor of Ethiopia presented him with a Gold Medal, which is an honor not frequently extended to foreign musicians.[citation needed] In 2012,he was awarded the Sangeet Ratna Award by The Salt Lake Music Association.
Several of India's most talented musicians hailed/hail from Varanasi. Pandit Ravi Shankar, the famous sitar player and musicologist who was given Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of the country was a native of Varanasi.[8] Ustad Bismillah Khan, an iconic Shehnai maestro who was also honoured with the Bharat Ratna also came from Varanasi.[2] Jotin Bhattacharya, an iconic Sarod maestro and the disciple of Baba Allauddin Khan also come from Varanasi.
As a member of Legislative Assembly representing the Government while in service and as an elected member of Legislative council by the State Chamber of Commerce and Industries, he wasresponsible for many decisions taken by the Government. Bharata Ratna C. Rajagopalachari used to stay in the house of Mr. Rama Rao at Basavanagudi, when he visited Bangalore.

Beenamol was conferred Arjuna Award in 2000 for her exemplary achievement in her athletic career.[6][7] She isalso the joint winner of India's highest sporting honour, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in the year 2002- 2003 along with Anjali Ved Pathak Bhagwat.[8][9] In 2004, she was awarded the Padma Shri.
The Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum,(VITM), Bangalore, India, a constituent unit of the National Council of Science Museums(NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India,was established in memory of Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya. The building, with a built up area of 4,000 m2(43,000 sq ft), was constructed in Cubbon Park. It houses various scientific experiments and engines, and was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on 14 July 1962.
