Du hast Pharao und seinen Vornehmen im diesseitigen Leben Pracht und Vermögen zukommen lassen, unser Herr, damit sie(die Leute) von deinem Weg abirren lassen.
Thou hast given Pharaoh and his chiefs splendour and riches in the life of the world, Our Lord! that they may lead men astray from Thy way.

Er sagte:«Weil Du mich hast abirren lassen, werde ich, ich schwöre es, ihnen auf deinem geraden Weg auflauern.
He answered:'Because You have caused me to go astray, I will waylay them as they walk on Your Straight Path.

Er sagte:«Mein Herr, weil Du mich irregeführt hast, werde ich, ich schwöre es, ihnen auf der Erde Verlockungen bereiten und sie allesamt abirren lassen.
Iblis(Satan) said:"O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them(mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all.

Beinahe hätte er uns doch von unseren Gottheiten abirren lassen, hätten wir uns nicht in Geduld ihnen gegenüber geübt!
He had almost led us astray from our gods, had we not remained firm in our faith with regard to them!

And if I intend to give you good advice, my advice will not profit you if Allah intended that He should leave you to go astray; He is your Lord, and to Him shall you be returned.

Thus God guides whomsoever He please by opening wide his breast to surrender; and Straitens the breasts of those He allows to go astray,(who feel suffocated) as if they were ascending the skies.
