(9)۞ Have they not journeyed through the land to see the end of those who went before them?

( நபியே!) உமக்கு முன்னர்( பற்பல சமூகங்களுக்க் உம்) நாம் அனுப்பிய தூதர்கள்( அந்தந்த சமூகங்களின்) ஊர்களில் இருந்த மனிதர்களேயன்றி வேறில்லை அவர்களுக்கு நாம் வஹீ மூலம்( நம் கட்டளைகளை) அறிவித்தோம்- இவர்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்து இவர்களுக்கு முன் இருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு எப்படிய் இருந்தது என்பதைப் பார்க்க வில்லையா? மறுமை வீடுதான் பயபக்தியுடையவர்களுக்கு மிகவும் மேலானதாகும்;( இதனை) நீங்கள்( சிந்தித்து) விளங்கிக்கொள்ள வேண்டாமா?
All the messengers We sent before you[Muhammad] were human beings to whom We made revelations; they were men chosen from the people of their towns. Did they not travel across the earth and see the end of those before them? Those who are mindful of God prefer the life to come. Will you not then understand?

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது.
And when you travel throughout the land, there is no blame upon you for shortening the prayer,[especially] if you fear that those who disbelieve may disrupt[or attack] you.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
O you who believe, do not be like those who deny, and say of their brethren(who died) travelling in the land or fighting:"Had they stayed with us here they would not have died or been killed." This happened so that God may fill their hearts with grief. God is the giver of life and death and sees all that you do.

அவர்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்து இவர்களுக்கு முன்பு இருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு எப்படிய் இருந்தது என்பதைப் பார்க்கவில்லையா? அல்லாஹ் அவர்களை அடியோடு அழித்து விட்டான், காஃபிர்களுக்க் உம் இவை போன்றவைதாம்( முடிவுகள்) உண்டு.
Have they not travelled the earth and seen how those before them met their end? God destroyed them utterly: a similar fate awaits those who deny the truth.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
Believers, do not be like the unbelievers, who said of their brothers who travelled in the land or took part in a fight,"Had they stayed with us, they would not have died or been killed." God will only cause regret to enter their hearts. It is God who gives life and causes people to die. God is Well Aware of what you do.

அவர்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்து இவர்களுக்கு முன்பு இருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு எப்படிய் இருந்தது என்பதைப் பார்க்கவில்லையா? அல்லாஹ் அவர்களை அடியோடு அழித்து விட்டான், காஃபிர்களுக்க் உம் இவை போன்றவைதாம்( முடிவுகள்) உண்டு.
Have they not journeyed through the earth and seen the consequences for those before them? God poured destruction upon them, and for the unbelievers is something comparable.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
O believers, be not as the unbelievers who say to their brothers, when they journey in the land, or are upon expeditions,'If they had been with us, they would not have died and not been slain'-- that God may make that an anguish in their hearts. For God gives life, and He makes to die; and God sees the things you do.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
When you travel in the land there is no sin if you curtail your service of prayer if you fear the unbelievers may harass you, for indeed your open enemies are the infidels.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
Believers, do not be as those who disbelieve and say of their brothers when they journey in the land or go of to battle:'Had they stayed with us, they would not have died, nor would they have been killed' In order that Allah will make that a regret in their hearts. Allah revives and causes to die. He has knowledge of what you do.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
When ye travel through the earth, there is no blame on you if ye shorten your prayers, for fear the Unbelievers May attack you: For the Unbelievers are unto you open enemies.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
O you who have faith! Do not be like the faithless who say of their brethren, when they travel in the land or go into battle,‘Had they stayed with us they would not have died or been killed,' so that Allah may make it a regret in their hearts. But Allah gives life and brings death, and Allah watches what you do.

அவர்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்து இவர்களுக்கு முன்பு இருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு எப்படிய் இருந்தது என்பதைப் பார்க்கவில்லையா? அல்லாஹ் அவர்களை அடியோடு அழித்து விட்டான், காஃபிர்களுக்க் உம் இவை போன்றவைதாம்( முடிவுகள்) உண்டு.
Have they not travelled then on the earth so that they might see how hath been the end of those before them! Allah annihilated them. And for the infidels theirs shall be the like fate therefore.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
O you who believe! Be not like those who disbelieve(hypocrites) and who say to their brethren when they travel through the earth or go out to fight:"If they had stayed with us, they would not have died or been killed," so that Allah may make it a cause of regret in their hearts. It is Allah that gives life and causes death. And Allah is All-Seer of what you do.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
When you[believers] are travelling in the land, you will not be blamed for shortening your prayers, if you fear the disbelievers may harm you. They are your avowed enemies.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
O you who have believed, do not be like those who disbelieved and said about their brothers when they traveled through the land or went out to fight,"If they had been with us, they would not have died or have been killed," so Allah makes that[misconception] a regret within their hearts. And it is Allah who gives life and causes death, and Allah is Seeing of what you do.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
When you travel in the land, there is no blame on you for shortening the prayers, if you fear that the disbelievers may harm you. The disbelievers are your manifest enemies.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
O O Ye who believe! be not like unto those who disbelieve and say of their brethren when they journey in the land or go to religious war: had they been with, they had not died nor had they been slain; this is in order that Allah may cause an anguish in their hearts. And it is Allah who maketh alive and causeth to die, and Allah is of that which ye work Beholder.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
And when you travel in the land, it is no sin for you to curtail some of your obligatory prayers; if you fear that disbelievers may cause you harm; undoubtedly the disbelievers are open enemies to you.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
O you who believe! be not like those who disbelieve and say of their brethren when they travel in the earth or engage in fighting: Had they been with us, they would not have died and they would not have been slain; so Allah makes this to be an intense regret in their hearts; and Allah gives life and causes death and Allah sees what you do.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
And when you journey in the earth, there is no blame on you if you shorten the prayer, if you fear that those who disbelieve will cause you distress, surely the unbelievers are your open enemy.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
O ye who believe! Be not like the Unbelievers, who say of their brethren, when they are travelling through the Earth or engaged in fighting:"If they had stayed with us, they would not have died, or been slain." This that Allah may make it a cause of sighs and regrets in their hearts. It is Allah that gives Life and Death, and Allah sees well all that ye do.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
When you journey in the land, there is no sin upon you in shortening the prayers, if you fear that the faithless may trouble you; indeed the faithless are your manifest enemies.

முஃமின்களே! நீங்கள் நிராகரிப்போரைப் போன்று ஆகிவிடாதீர்கள்;. பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போதோ அல்லது போரில் ஈடுபட்டோ( மரணமடைந்த) தம் சகோதரர்களைப் பற்றி( அந்நிராகரிப்போர்) கூறுகின்றனர்;" அவர்கள் நம்முடனே இருந்த் இருந்தால் மரணம் அடைந்தோ, கொல்லப்பட்டோ போயிருக்கமாட்டார்கள்" என்று, ஆனால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் மனதில் ஏக்கம் உம் கவலையும் உண்டாவதற்க் ஆகவ் ஏ இவ்வாறு செய்கிறான்;. மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வே உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறான்;. அவனே மரிக்கச் செய்கிறான்;. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவை அனைத்தையும் பார்ப்பவனாகவே இருக்கின்றான்.
Believers, do not be like those who are bent on denying the truth and who say of their brothers, when they travel about the land or go forth to war,"Had they but remained with us, they would not have died, or been slain"-- for God will cause such thoughts to become a source of bitter regret in their hearts, since it is God who gives life and causes death. And God sees all that you do.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
And when you are journeying in the land there is no fault in you that you shorten the prayer, if you fear the unbelievers may afflict you; the unbelievers are for you a manifest foe.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
And when you(Muslims) travel in the land, there is no sin on you if you shorten your Salat(prayer) if you fear that the disbelievers may attack you, verily, the disbelievers are ever unto you open enemies.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
And when you are journeying in the land, there is no fault in you that you shorten the prayer if you fear that those who disbelieve will afflict you. Indeed, the unbelievers are a clear enemy for you.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
When you go forth journeying in the land, there is no blame on you if you shorten the Prayer,(especially) if you fear that the unbelievers might cause you harm. Surely the unbelievers are your open enemies.

நீங்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்யும்போது, காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்கு விஷமம் செய்வார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் அஞ்சினால், அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தொழுகையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொள்வது உங்கள் மீது குற்றம் ஆகாது. நிச்சயமாக காஃபிர்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பகிரங்கமான பகைவர்கள் ஆக இருக்கின்றனர்.
And when you travel throughout the land, there is no blame upon you for shortening the prayer,[especially] if you fear that those who disbelieve may disrupt[or attack] you. Indeed, the disbelievers are ever to you a clear enemy.

இவர்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்து தங்களுக்கு முன்னர் இருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு எப்படிய் இருந்தது என்பதைப் பார்க்க வில்லையா? அவர்கள் இவர்களை விட( எண்ணிக்கையில்) அதிகம் ஆகவ் உம், பலத்தில் உம், பூமியில் விட்டுச் சென்ற சின்னங்களில் உம் மிகைத்தவர்கள் ஆகவ் உம் இருந்தார்கள்- எனினும், அவர்கள் சம்பாதித்தது( எதுவும்) அவர்களுக்குப் பயனளிக்கவ் இல்லை.
Did they not journey in the land that they may behold the end of those who had gone before them? They were more numerous and greater in strength and left behind more splendid traces in the land. Yet their attainments did not avail them.
