In this exhibition,we will highlight six pieces by Okayama-born artist Yasuo Kuniyoshi(1889), who flourished as a painter in the United States, where he worked on these pieces from the time of World War II through the postwar era.
According to the city on April 2, Prof. Kuniyoshi will be visiting Gwangju from Aril 3 to 5 to flesh out the details of the local government's urban design plan.
Of special note is Mr. Kuniyoshi, the owner chef's handmade breakfast and dinner using plenty of local ingredients, whose quality and volume are entirely satisfactory.
Focusing on the Fukutake Collection, the largest of Kuniyoshi's work in the world, this exhibition presents selections offering a look back on his career. Around 50 works, including the painting"Clown," are shown publicly in Japan for the first time.
During his stay, Prof. Kuniyoshi, an advisor to the city's urban design department, will examine and offer advice on the city's ongoing urban design projects including the construction of a walking network around the Asia Culture Center.
