I would also like to thank your predecessors, Ambassador Norberg of Sweden andAmbassador Hofer of Switzerland, for their crucial contribution to our work.
I would also like to express our appreciation to the representative of Jamaica for her contribution to our work during the previous session.
You must also realize that we operate through the mechanism of opportunities that would appear in your life to do something which makes a contribution to our work.

I should also like to warmly welcome, on behalf of all of us, the newly admitted members, Ecuador, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and Tunisia,and look forward to their contribution to our work.
Finally, Mr President, I would like to thank you once again for giving me the floor andalso thank His Excellency the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for his contribution to our work for a CTBT at this crucial juncture.
I would also like to take this opportunityto pay tribute to Mr. Sergio Duarte, High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, for his relevant contribution to our work.
The Algerian delegation would also like to take this opportunity to thank the SecretaryGeneral of the Conference, Mr. Sergei Ordzhonikidze, andMr. Jerzy Zaleski, the Secretary of the Conference, as well as all the staff in the secretariat for their valuable contribution to our work.
Nonetheless, we would like wholeheartedly to thank all the three special coordinators on procedural issues Ambassador Seibert of Germany, Ambassador Kariyawasam of Sri Lanka and Ambassador Draganov and Mr. Petar Kolarov of Bulgaria for their dedication andtheir very valuable contribution to our work.
I would also like to take this opportunity to extend our best regards to Mr. Vladimir Petrovsky, Secretary-General of the CD, and to his deputy, Mr. Abdelkader Bensmail, as well as to the other members of the secretariat, andto convey our appreciation for their valuable contribution to our work.
