Sixteenth Economic and Environmental Forum of the.
The Committee was informed about the UNECE Transport Division's contribution to the annual OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum EEF.

From 9 to 10 February 2011, the Project Manager presented the results of the second preparatory conference at the eighteenth OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum in Prague.

Economic and Environmental Forum- convenes once a year to focus on economic and environmental factors that affect security in the OSCE area.
The Committee will be informed about the UNECE Transport Division contribution during the process leading to the annual OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum EEF.
The UNECE contribution to the fifteenth OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum with the review of the implementation of OSCE commitments on the environment.
We note that the Chairmanship will also focus on water governance issues,beginning with this year's Economic and Environmental Forum session in Vienna later this month.
OSCE organizes annually the Economic and Environmental Forum, which targets a different major economic and/or environmental security issue each year.
I would like to thank Ambassador Zugic of the Serbian Chairmanship, Secretary General Zannier, and the Coordinator for Economic and Environmental Activities, Dr. Yigitguden,for bringing us together to open the 23rd Economic and Environmental Forum.
The OSCE information concerned specifically the follow-up to the eighteenth OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum(EEF) and the preparatory process to the nineteenth OSCE EEF.
The Committee noted that the secretariat, in the context of cooperation with OSCE, had prepared a report on the transport of dangerous goods, issued under the OSCE symbol EEF. IO/11/08,for consideration by the sixteenth OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum Prague, 19-21 May 2008.
At the same time, topics of the next Economic and Environmental Forum, namely land degradation, soil contamination and water management, are of direct interest for Azerbaijan.
The Expert Group will be informed by the OSCE about recent developments related to transportin the OSCE/ECE region, in particular in the context of the follow-up to the eighteenth OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum(EEF) and the preparatory process to the nineteenth OSCE EEF.
The Committee took note of the UNECE report prepared for the fifteenth OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum(Prague, 21- 22 May 2007) with the review of the implementation of OSCE commitments on the environment.
UNECE contributed in the framework of the review of the implementation of OSCE commitments in the economic and environmental dimension, in the field of transport of dangerous goods, during the sixteenth OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum, 19-21 May 2008, Prague, Czech Republic.
As a follow-up, this year's meeting of the OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum under Finnish Chairmanship focused on maritime and inland waterways cooperation in the OSCE area, in particular on increasing security and protecting the environment.
I would like to thank OSCE Chairperson Foreign Minister Dacic and the Serbian OSCE Chairmanship, Secretary General Zannier, and Dr. Yigitguden, Coordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities,for organizing this week's concluding meeting of the Economic and Environmental Forum.
The sixteenth Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Economic and Environmental Forum will focus on"Maritime and inland waterways cooperation in the OSCE area: Increasing security and protecting the environment.
Background information and room documents were made available on a series of issues and activities, including:(i) the development of countries indicators of Energy Vulnerability within the context of a cooperation between the UNECE and the World Energy Council; and(ii)the Review of the implementation of the OSCE commitments in the filed of energy efficiency which was presented at the 19th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum held in Prague on 14-16 September 2011.
The eighteenth OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum was held in Prague, from 24 to 26 May, 2010 under the theme of"Promoting good governance at border crossings, improving the security of land transportation and facilitating international transport by road and rail in the OSCE region.
It is vital that we have continuity in these discussions, and we are pleased to see interplay between thematic committee meetings and this year's Economic and Environmental Forum theme,"Responding to Environmental Challenges," as well as the two important Second Dimension Ministerial Decisions reached in Kyiv.

This has included participation in some key processes such as the summit and specified ministerial meetings under the African Union, meetings of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific(UNESCAP) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean(UNECLAC) relating to land degradation,the Environment for Europe process, and the Economic and Environmental Forum organized under the Organization for Securityand Co-operation in Europe.
The eighteenth OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum will take place in May 2010 under the theme of"Promoting good governance at border crossings, improving the security of land transportation and facilitating international transport by road and rail in the OSCE region.
The Working Party was informed that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe(OSCE)had decided to devote its 2010 Economic and Environmental Forum to"Promoting good governance at border crossings, improving the security of land transportationand facilitating international transport by road and rail in the OSCE region.
The Bureau was informed of the outcome of the eighteenth Economic and Environmental Forum of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe(OSCE), held in Prague(24- 26 May 2010) and of UNECEs contribution in reviewing the implementation of OSCE's commitments in the economic and environmental dimensions.
Ambassador Moore, we thank you and the Mission for hosting delegates from the Second Preparatory Meeting of the Economic and Environmental Forum, who traveled from Belgrade to Bosniaand Herzegovina earlier in May to see firsthand the work of the OSCE in helping the government and local people respond to the devastating flooding that occurred in 2014.
The Office also contributed to the eighteenth meeting of the Economic and Environmental Forum of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, whose theme was focused on promoting good governance at border crossings, improving the security of land transportation and facilitating international transport by road and rail in the OSCE region, and highlighted the special needs of the eight landlocked OSCE members and two landlocked observers.
