The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions,in paragraph 19 of its report on the financing and liquidation of UNTAC(A/49/867), subsequently requested the inclusion in the present report of information on losses, through any means, of assets of peacekeeping operations that have occurred in the last three years.

In considering the report of the Secretary-General on the financing and liquidation of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia(UNTAC)(A/49/714 and Corr.1 and 2 and Add.1), the Advisory Committee on Administrativeand Budgetary Questions, in paragraph 19 of its report(A/49/867), expressed the view that there was a need for full disclosure of property lost due to theft.
The General Assembly considered the reports of the Secretary-General on the financing and liquidation of UNTAC, the comprehensive evaluation of all aspects of the administrationand management of UNTAC and the related reports of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions.
Following its consideration of the reports of the Secretary-General on the financing and liquidation of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia(UNTAC)(A/53/340) and on the financing of the Military Observer Group of the United Nations Verification Mission in Guatemala(MINUGUA)(A/53/775), the General Assembly, in its resolutions 53/230 and 53/235, respectively, requested the Secretary-General to provide an updated report to the Assembly at its fifty-fourth session on losses of United Nations property in peacekeeping operations.
In addition, the Advisory Committee, in paragraph 19 of its report on the financing and liquidation of the Mission(A/49/867), further requested that the mentioned report include information on losses, through any means, of assets of peacekeeping operations that had occurred in the past three years.
With regard to the report of the Board of Auditors on the financing and liquidation of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia(UNTAC), his delegation was not satisfied with the administration's explanations, especially considering the field experience which the Organization had acquired in other operations.
