The decrease is offset in part by increased requirements under salaries and common staff costs related to the proposed redeployment of the following five posts within thesubprogramme between duty stations: two P-2 Associate Investigator posts and one P-3 Investigator post(from Vienna to New York); one P-4 Investigator post(from Nairobi to New York); and one P-2 Associate Investigator post from Vienna to Nairobi.
In addition, it is proposed to establish an Investigator post(P-2) to enable the Unit to develop further sources of information.
Given the ongoing nature of the requirement for the investigation of serious misconduct by the OIOS Investigations Division(as mandated by the GeneralAssembly in resolution 59/287, para. 3), all Investigators posts should be funded not from general temporary assistance but through support account posts. .
With regard to the Office of Legal Aid and Detention Matters,the Advisory Committee agrees with the request for one new financial investigator post at the P-3 level proposed in paragraph 81 of annex IV to document A/56/495/Add.1.
