The Sadducees represented the aristocrats and the wealthy.
In Jesus' day, commonly the priests were Sadducees.
The Sadducees believed that the soul died with the body.
Later on in the New Testament we read about the Pharisees and Sadducees.
The Sadducees believed in nothing beyond what they could see.
But hearing that He had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees were gathered together.
So, what will happen is precisely the contrary of what the Sadducees expected.
The raising of Lazarus probably upset the Sadducees who did not believe in the resurrection.
Therefore, what will happen is quite the opposite of what the Sadducees expected.
There came to him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection. They asked him, saying.
Jesus said to them,"Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.".
Religiously, the Sadducees were more conservative in one main area of doctrine.
Jesus said to them,“Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”!
He openly said to the Pharisees and Sadducees that they were vipers and spoke not one word to Herod.
Jesus said to them,"Look out, and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."!
To the Phariseesand Sadducees, the Jews were God's'chosen people': he belonged to them; they belonged to him.
When he had said this, an argument arose between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.
The Sadducees preserved the authority of the written Word of God, especially the books of Moses(Genesis through Deuteronomy).
And when he had so said,there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.
Here the Pharisees and Sadducees approached him, and to test him, they asked him to display to them a sign from heaven.
Then they understood that he didn't tell them to beware of the yeast of bread,but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
First, why would Jesusrefer to the heavenly resurrection when answering the Sadducees, who probably had in mind an earthly resurrection?
How is it that you don't perceive that I didn't speak to you concerning bread?But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."?
But as with the Sadducees, this doesn't imply that Christ or the Apostles limited the canon of Scripture only to what the Pharisees acknowledged.
Matthew's intended audience was his fellow Jews, many of whom- especially the Pharisees and Sadducees- stubbornly refused to accept Jesus as their Messiah.
But the special order of that day was made up of the scribes, Sadducees, Pharisees, chief priests and the Doctors of the Law- those interpreting the Law.
