The Wahhabi monarchy, despite the fact that it is suspected by many(including representatives of Shiite Iran) of supporting Sunni militants fighting, in particular, against the Syrian President Assad, is itself a target of criticism from extreme jihadists, including from the«Al-Qaeda».

Objectively the Saudi state needed a Wahhabi interpretation of the Hanbalite Madhhab because the latter was adding uniformity to the society, created as a result of the military expansion, becoming(due to the tradition of the alliance between the ruling Al Saud family and descendants of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Al Al-Sheikh heading the numerous corps of theologists) a most affordable tool for centralization of the newly established religious and political formation- the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
But in a country that adheres to an austere brand of Wahhabi Sunni Islam, where gender segregation is mandatory and concerts and cinemas are banned, the plan's seemingly anodyne goals to empower women, promote sports and invest in entertainment are controversial.
Moreover, special services of Wahhabi kingdom, led by Prince Bandar bin Sultan, transfer to Israeli intelligence the data obtained from the alleged intelligence sources in Iran that Iran has come close to a nuclear device, and at least in a year, will get no fewer than 4 warheads.
But this seemed not enough, so Washington,being pushed by Wahhabi regimes of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, who feared strengthening of the Islamic Republic of Iran(IRI) while there was emerging alliance with Iraq, began actively and purposefully escalate tensions around Iran, using the thesis about nuclear threat from it.
