Get External Data.
In the PowerPivot window, click Get External Data.
Access opens the Get External Data- Text File dialog box.
In Excel, click Data>the connection you want in the Get External Data group.
In the Get External Data- dBASE File dialog box, select Browse.
Follow the instructions in the Get External Data dialog box.
Click Get External Data> From Data Service> From Microsoft Azure Marketplace.
On the Data tab, choose Get External Data> From Text.
In the Get External Data dialog box, click Browse to locate the backup database.
In Power Pivot,click Home> Get External Data> From Other Data Sources.
In the Get External Data section click the From Other Sources button and then choose From Microsoft Query.
If you choose to use an existing list, the Get External Data dialog box opens to help you.
In the Get External Data- dBASE file dialog box, select Link to the data source by creating a linked table.
Click the Power Query tab on the Ribbon,then select Get External Data> From Other Sources> From ODBC.
Click Get External Data> From Data Service> From Microsoft Azure Marketplace to import a second dataset.
The data is automatically added to the Data Model when you get external data through the PowerPivot window.
On the Data tab, in the Get External Data group, click From Other Sources, and then click From Microsoft Query.
Note: Power Query isn't supported in Excel 2007, butyou can use the Get External Data method to import XML data. .
In the Get External Data- dBASE File dialog box, select Import the source data into a new table in the current database.
To start the Text Import Wizard,on the Data tab, in the Get External Data group, click From Text.
In the Get External Data dialog box, ensure that the Import the source data into a new table in the current database option is selected.
On the Add Tables page, pick your source from Create a table from an existing data source, andfollow the steps in the Get External Data wizard.
This would open the Get External Data- Access Database wizard.
In the Get External Data- Text File dialog box, specify the name of the text file that contains the data to which you want to link in the File name box.
To open the Data Connection Wizard,on the Data tab, in the Get External Data group, click From Other Sources, and then click From Data Connection Wizard.
In the Get External Data- Access Database dialog box, click Import tables, queries, forms, reports, macros, and modules into the current database, and then click OK.
Click on the Data tab, then Get External Data> From Other Sources> From XML.
In the Get External Data dialog box, either click Browse to browse to the source data file, or type the full path of the source data file in the File name box.
To view the QueryEditor without loading or editing an existing workbook query, from the Get External Data section in the Power Query ribbon tab, select From Other Sources> Blank Query.
In the Get External Data dialog box, click Browse to find the source data file, or type the full path of the source data file in the File name box.
