HIV PIs- Boosted with low-dose ritonavir Atazanavir/ritonavir.
Due to multiple CYP isoenzyme systems involved in voriconazole metabolism,it is difficult to predict the interaction with tipranavir, coadministered with low-dose ritonavir.
It is given with low-dose ritonavir or, in adults, with cobicistat.
Plasma levels of certain HIV-1 protease inhibitors, which are metabolised predominantly by CYP3A4,can be increased by the co-administration of low-dose ritonavir, which is an inhibitor of this metabolism.
APTIVUS, co-administered with low-dose ritonavir, had no significant impact on the Cmin of efavirenz.
Plasma levels of nelfinavir, which is metabolised predominantly by CYP2C19 and only partially by CYP3A4, are not greatly increased by co-administration with ritonavir, andtherefore nelfinavir does not require co-administration with low-dose ritonavir.
Combination of rifampicin with concomitant low-dose ritonavir(see section 4.5).
APTIVUS co-administered with low-dose ritonavir at steady-state resulted in approximately a 50% decrease in bupropion Cmax and AUC0-12h.
In adults, Agenerase capsules are usually given with low-dose ritonavir(another antiviral medicine).
Agenerase boosted with low-dose ritonavir has been compared with other protease inhibitors in 206 adults who had taken protease inhibitors in the past.
The combination of rifampicin and REYATAZ with concomitant low-dose ritonavir is contraindicated(see section 4.3).
The medicine is to be taken with low-dose ritonavir or, as an alternative in adults, with cobicistat and with other HIV medicines, and should be taken with food.
The combination of rifampicin andAgenerase with concomitant low-dose ritonavir is contraindicated(see section 4.3).
When using Atripla with low-dose ritonavir, the possibility of an increase in the incidence of efavirenz-associated adverse events should be considered, due to possible pharmacodynamic interaction.
Sufficient data on the tolerability of efavirenz with low-dose ritonavir(100 mg, once or twice daily) are not available.
When using efavirenz with low-dose ritonavir, the possibility of an increase in the incidence of efavirenz-associated adverse events should be considered, due to possible pharmacodynamic interaction.
Treatment paradigms for several protease inhibitors, which are subject to this interaction, require the co-administration of low-dose ritonavir(‘boosting') in order to enhance plasma levels and optimise antiviral efficacy.
When using Atripla in a regimen including low-dose ritonavir, the possibility of an increase in the incidence of efavirenz-associated adverse events should be considered, due to possible pharmacodynamic interaction.
PDE5 inhibitors used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction: particular caution should be used when prescribing PDE5-inhibitors(sildenafil, tadalafil, or vardenafil)for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in patients receiving REYATAZ with concomitant low-dose ritonavir.
Aptivus is used in combination with low-dose ritonavir(another HIV-medicine) and other HIV-medicines.
Plasma levels of nelfinavir, which is metabolised predominantly by CYP2C19 and only partially by CYP3A4, are not greatly increased by co-administration with ritonavir, andtherefore co-administration of nelfinavir with low-dose ritonavir does not appear to be beneficial.
The medicine is always taken with low-dose ritonavir and with other HIV medicines, and should be taken with food.
AUC:~↓ 40% Cmax:~↓ 40% Cmin:~↓ 40%(CYP3A4 induction, the effect of efavirenz is compensated by the pharmacokinetic booster effect of ritonavir) For co-administration of efavirenz with low-dose ritonavir in combination with a protease inhibitor, see section on ritonavir below.
For co-administration of efavirenz with low-dose ritonavir in combination with a protease inhibitor, see section on ritonavir below.
It is used together with low-dose ritonavir(another antiviral medicine) and other antiviral medicines to treat adults who are infected with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV-1), a virus that causes acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS).
The medicine is always taken either with cobicistat(in adults) or with low-dose ritonavir(in adults and children) and with other HIV medicines, and should be taken with food.
Reyataz is used together with low-dose ritonavir and other antiviral medicines to treat adults and children aged 3 months and over and weighing at least 5 kg who are infected with human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1), a virus that causes acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS).
The medicine is always taken with cobicistat(in adults) or with low-dose ritonavir(in adults and children) plus other HIV medicines, and should be taken with food.
Prezista is used together with low-dose ritonavir and other HIV medicines to treat adults and children aged three years or over who are infected with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV-1), a virus that causes acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS).
In studies where tipranavir co-administered with low-dose ritonavir was used with or without enfuvirtide, it has been observed that the steady-state plasma tipranavir trough concentration of patients receiving enfuvirtide were 45% higher as compared to patients not receiving enfuvirtide.
