Ms Sturgeon also warned that without free movement of people- something Theresa May has repeatedly ruled out retaining when the UK leaves the EU- there is a risk Scotland's working population will go into decline, with this bringing with it“severe economic and social consequences”.
Ms Sturgeon said Scotland had found itself in a position it did not want to be in as a result of the Brexit vote and she could not see how the Government at Westminster could justify refusing them another chance to leave the UK.
Ms Sturgeon said:“The risk for the Conservatives here- though I should be quite relaxed about it- is that the more they block the will of the Scottish people, the more contempt they show for Scottish democracy, the more they will increase support for Scottish independence.
