Or"For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel….
However, how could Paul possibly say,“I am thankful I did not baptize…” or“For Christ did not send me to baptize…” if baptism were necessary for salvation?
In 1Corinthians 1:17 Paul declares:"For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel- not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.".
Christ did not send me to baptize, but to proclaim the gospel, and not with eloquent wisdom, so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied of its power- for the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those of us who are being saved it is the power of God!
For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
However, how could Paul possibly say,“I thank God that I baptized none of you…” or“For Christ sent me not to baptize…” if baptism were necessary for salvation?
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 1 Corinthians 1:17.
