The body length of an adult argali is 120-200 cm, with a height at the withers of 90-120 cm and weight in the range of 65-180 kg.
With the onset of summer, argali mountain sheep join together in relatively small herds, consisting of a maximum of thirty heads, and in winter, such a herd becomes much larger and is capable of including several hundreds of uneven-aged animals.
After the rut season is over, the argali males are again separated from all the females and, joining together in small groups, go up into the mountains.
Wild mountain sheep, argali, belong to the category of herbivorous animals, which is why the basic ration for artiodactyls is represented by the diverse, grassy vegetation that is characteristic of the area and area in which the subspecies exists.
