Serbian Police Director Milorad Veljović began his two-day stay in the ground security zone with a tour of the base of the Gendarmerie in the village of Ristovac near Vranje, and then he visited the integrated control border-crossing of Konculj near Bujanovac, as well as the village of Miratovac near Presevo.
April 2017. Preševo- On Easter, Zoran Djordjevic, Defense Minister, visited members of the army and the police at the“Kozjak” military base, which is located on the Serbian-Macedonian border, as well as the“Ševadske livade” military base,which is located in the ground security zone.
I am not sure that conditions have been ripe for the diminution of the interest of the Security Council in this topic. This is confirmed, regrettably,also by the incident that took place yesterday in the Ground Security Zone when Stevan Sinđelić, a member of the Serbian Gendarmerie, was killed. Great progress has been made, but we are far from being close to our goal.
General Dikovic said that the exchange of information between the Army of Serbia and KFOR occurred on a daily basis."Whilespeaking with the KFOR commander on Friday, I learned from him that security and safety in Ground Security Zone, as well as in the area of Kosovo and Metohija, might be endangered.
