In southern and eastern Serbia, this figure is the lowest.
Statistical records show that there are six times fewer of those with no schooling or with incomplete primary school education,who are mostly from southern and eastern Serbia.
Southern and Eastern Serbia in their districts have a total of 723(14%) registered young entrepreneurs, while the region of Kosovo and Metohija has only 17(0.3%).

The call covers two regions in Serbia: Southern and Eastern Serbia, and Šumadija and Western Serbia, i.e. 53 local self-governments.
In Serbia, the SILC is representative at the national level and at the level of four regions(Belgrade, Vojvodina,Šumadija and Western Serbia, and Southern and Eastern Serbia).
In Southern and Eastern Serbia that number is 118(10%), while in the region of Kosovo and Metohija, only 7 companies are registered, which is 0.6%(Chart 6, Annex 2).
The European Support to Municipal Development Programme- EU PRO contributes to overall economic and social growth in 99 local self-governments in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia.
The program aims to increase the competitiveness of micro and small enterprises, improve the business environment and improve social cohesion in 99 local self-government units, in two regions:Sumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia.
Within the European Union(EU)support to the improvement of infrastructure in two regions- Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia, there is ongoing Public Call for Proposals for Local Infrastructure Projects, for which the EU has allocated 5.2 million Euros.
The programme seeks to improve competitiveness of micro and small enterprises and the business environment and to advance social cohesion in 99 local self-governments in two Serbian regions:Sumadija and Western Serbia, and Southern and Eastern Serbia.
Within the framework of the European Union's support to the improvement of infrastructure in two regions- Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia, the call for proposals for local infrastructure projects, for which the EU has allocated EUR 5.2 million, is in progress.
The regions of Vojvodina, Sumadija and western Serbia, southern and eastern Serbia were classified as insufficiently developed ones, since the value of the GDP made in them is below the average, while the region of Kosovo and Metohija also has the status of an insufficiently developed region.
According to the 2011 Population Census, 30.6% of women between the ages of 30 and 34 were childless,including 23.0% in Southern and Eastern Serbia and 42.8% in the Belgrade region.
The project is implemented in five cities in southern and eastern Serbia, which include Nis, Leskovac, Vranje, Pirot and Zajecar, whereas one-day trainings on the basics of entrepreneurship and management will be held in each of these cities in late September and early October.

The local self-governments from Šumadija and Western, Southern and Eastern Serbia included in the Programme represent key actorsand beneficiaries of the Programme, which, together with their institutions and civil society organisations, should establish ownership over the activities conducted in their respective territories.
The call, for which the European Union(EU) put aside 1.2 million euros, is open until December 30, 2018, while eligible to apply are 99 local self-governments from the region of Sumadija and Western Serbia, as well as Southern and Eastern Serbia, which are involved in the implementation of the EU PRO program.
BUJANOVAC SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE FINALS OF THE COMPETITION"EUROPE, IT'S YOU" Bujanovac- The finalists of the quiz"Europe,It's You" from the southern and eastern Serbia, which is implemented by the EU Progress program, include the"Knights of Health" team from the“Saint Sava” secondary vocational school from Bujanovac, the team from Prijepolje grammar school, the"Ambassadors" from Novi Pazar grammar school and the"Green Wall" from the“Bosko Krtic” secondary technical school from Bojnik.
The data are weighted for national representativeness, with about 19.5 percent of the unweighted sample located in Belgrade, about 27.1 percent of the unweighted sample in Vojvodina, about 30.1 percent in Šumadija and Western Serbia, and about 23.3 percent in Southern and Eastern Serbia.

Belgrade- The EU PRO Development Program issued four public calls for the improvement of infrastructure in 99 local self-governments in the regions of Sumadija,western, southern and eastern Serbia, including the local self-governments of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, for which the European Union(EU) had earmarked ten million euros.
In order to help consumers in exercising their rights, the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications funds the work of four counseling centers for consumers which are led by the associations for consumer protection in Belgrade, Vojvodina,Serbia Šumadija and Western, Southern and Eastern Serbia.
Compared to the research carried out to date, the latest methodological changes did not have a significant impact on the profile of the poor; thus, poverty remained primarily concentrated in non-urban areas,especially in the Southern and Eastern Serbia Region, among individuals living in households whose heads had no/low education, were un-employed and inactive.
Piecing Together"- the EU Support to 22 New Projects for Fostering Social CohesionPublished 17.05.2019. The European Union(EU) through EU PRO development programme will support 22 new civil society organisations(CSO)projects aimed at fostering social cohesion in multi-ethnic municipalities from the two regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia.
The programme seeks to improve competitiveness of micro and small enterprises and business environment and to advance social cohesion in 99 local self-governments in two Serbian regions:Sumadija and Western Serbia, and Southern and Eastern Serbia.
