Due to lack of funds andoutdated books, there are less village libraries in Serbia.
The interest at the village libraries in acquiring basic computer skills is very big and the ICT lecturer Bojan Novčić highlights that this group of farmers is eager to learn how to use computers independently. Therefore, they come to the library between the lectures, so they revise what they learned.
Over 900 farmers, today,regularly visit the village libraries and use the AgroLib-Ja services.
The Jagodina Public Library conducted the write-off of books from its own funds aiming to develop the village libraries in Bagrdan, Bunar, Glavinci and Glogovac.
The project authors, who work at the library, had the aim to revitalize village libraries(16 of them in the territory of the Jagodina municipality)”, she explained.
After years of adapting to the needs of local residents, village libraries are now operating very successfully.
Farmers who live in the Jagodina municipality go to the village libraries every day to improve their businesses.
