And a food that choketh and a torment afflictive.
( தொண்டையில்) விக்கிக் கொள்ளும் உணவும், நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையும் இருக்கின்றன.

O ye who believe! shall direct you to a merchandise that will deliver you from a torment afflictive?
ஈமான் கொண்டவர்களே! நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனைய் இலிருந்து உங்களை ஈடேற்றவல்ல ஒரு வியாபாரத்தை நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கட்டுமா?

Verily those who love that in decency should be propagated regarding those who believe, for them shall be a torment afflictive in the world and the Hereafter. And Allah knoweth, and ye know not.
எவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டுள்ளோரிடையே இத்தகைய மானக்கேடான விஷயங்கள் பரவ வேண்டுமெனப் பிரியப்படுகிறார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக இம்மையில் உம் மறுமையில் உம் நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையுண்டு அல்லாஹ்( யாவற்றையும்) அறிகிறான். நீங்கள் அறியமாட்டீர்கள்.

Verily those who believe not in the signs of Allah--Allah shall not guide them, and unto them shall be a torment afflictive.
நிச்சயமாக எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்களை நம்பவில்லையோ, அல்லாஹ் அவர்களுக்கு நேர்வழி காட்டமாட்டான்; இன்னும் அவர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையுமுண்டு.

Wherefore announce thou Unto them a torment afflictive.
( நபியே!) அவர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையைக் கொண்டு நன்மாராயங் கூறுவீராக.

This Book is guidance, and those who disbelieve in the revelations of their Lord, theirs shall be torment of calamity, afflictive.
இது( குர்ஆன்) தான் நேர்வழிகாட்யாகும், எவர்கள் தம்முடைய இறைவனின் வசனங்களை நிராகரித்து விட்டார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு நோவினை மிகுந்த கடினமான வேதனையுண்டு.

Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive.
( இதை நிராகரிப்போராயின்) நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் நோவினை தரும் வேதனையை அனுபவிப்பவர்கள் தாம்.

And that those who believe not in the Hereafter--for them We have gotten ready a torment afflictive.
மேலும், எவர்கள் மறுமை நாள் மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவில்லையோ, அவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயமாக நாம், நோவினை தரும் வேதனையைச் சித்தப்படுத்தி இருக்கின்றோம்.

(36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment.
நோவினை தரும் வேதனையை அஞ்சுபவர்களுக்கு நாம் இதில் ஓர் அத்தாட்சியை விட்டு வைத்தோம்.

These are they who traduce those who give alms cheerfully, from among the believers, and those who find not anything to give but their hard earnings: at them they scoff. Allah shall scoff back at them. and theirs shall be a torment afflictive.
இ( ம் முனாஃபிக்க் ஆன) வர்கள் முஃமின்களில் தாராளமாக தர்மம் செய்பவர்களைய் உம்( வேறு பொருள் எதுவுமில்லாததால்) தங்கள் உழைப்பை தானம் ஆகக் கொடுப்பவர்களைய் உம் குறை கூறி, ஏளனம் உம் செய்கிறார்கள். இவர்களை அல்லாஹ் ஏளனம் செய்கிறான். இவர்களுக்கு நோவினை தரும் வேதனையும் உண்டு.

Covering the people's this shall be a torment afflictive.
( அப்புகை) மனிதர்களைச் சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளும்;" இது நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையாகும்.".

Those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and in their meeting with Him, they shall despair of My mercy, and they! theirs shall be a torment afflictive.
இன்னும், எவர் அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்களைய் உம், அவனைச் சந்திப்பதையும் நிராகரித்தார்களோ, அவர்கள் தாம் என் ரஹ்மத்தை விட்டு நிராசையானவர்கள்; மேலும்,இ( த்தகைய )வர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனை உண்டு.

That ye shall worship none except Allah; verily I fear for you the torment of a Day afflictive.
நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை அன்றி( வேறெவரையும், எதனையும்) வணங்காதீர்கள். நிச்சயமாக நான் நோவினை தரும் நாளின் வேதனையை உங்களுக்கு அஞ்சகிறேன்"( என்று கூறினார்).

Then the sects differed among themselves. Woe then Unto those who do Wrong because of the torment of an afflictive Day.
அவர்களிடையே( ஏற்பட்ட பல) பிரிவினர் தமக்க் உள் மாறுபட்டனர்; ஆதலின், அநியாயம் செயதார்களே அவர்களுக்கு நோவினை தரும் நாளுடைய வேதனையின் கேடுதான் உண்டாகும்.

Verily We! We sent Nuh Unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come Unto them torment afflictive.
நிச்சயமாக நாம் நூஹை, அவருடைய சமூகத்தார் இடம்;" நீர் உம் சமூகத்தாருக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனை அவர்கள் மீது வருவதற்கு முன்னர்( அதுபற்றி) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வீராக" என( ரஸூலாக) அனுப்பினோம்.

That he may question the truthful of their truth. And for the Infidels He hath gotten ready a torment afflictive.
எனவே உண்மையாளர்களாகிய( அத்தூதர்களிடம்) அவர்கள்( எடுத்துக் கூறிய தூதின்) உண்மையை பற்றி அல்லாஹ் கேட்பான்;( அவர்களை நிராகரித்த) காஃபிர்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் நோவினை தரும் வேதனையைச் சித்தம் செய்திருக்கின்றான்.

They are like those a little before them; they tasted the ill-effect of their affair, and theirs shall be a torment afflictive.
இவர்களுக்கு முன்னர்( காலத்தால்) நெருங்கி இருந்த சிலரைப் போன்றே( இவர்கள் உம் இருக்கின்றனர்) அவர்கள் தம் தீய செயல்களுக்குரிய பலனை அனுபவித்தனர், அன்றியும், அவர்களுக்கு( மறுமையில்) நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையுமுண்டு.

Hath not the tidings reached you of those who disbelieved aforetime, and so tasted the evil consequence of their affair, and theirs will be a torment afflictive?
இதற்கு முன் நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவர்களின் செய்தி உங்களுக்கு வரவில்லையா? பின்னர், அவர்கள் தங்கள்( தீய) காரியத்தின் பலனை அனுபவித்தனர்- அன்றியும், அவர்களுக்கு( மறுமையில்) நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையுமுண்டு?

O our people! answer Allah's summoner and believe in him; He shall forgive you your sins and shall shelter you from a torment afflictive.
எங்கள் சமூகத்தாரே! உங்களை அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கம் அழைப்பவருக்கு பதிலளித்து( அவர் கூறுவதை ஏற்று) அவர் மீது ஈமான் கொள்ளுங்கள். அவன் உங்கள் பாவங்கள் இலிருந்து உங்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பளிப்பான், நோவினை தரும் வேதனைய் இலிருந்து உங்களைப் பாதுகாப்பான்.

They said: verily we augur ill of you; if ye desist not, we shall surely stone you, and there will befall you from us a torment afflictive.
( அதற்கு அம்மக்கள்;) கூறினார்கள்;" நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உங்களைத் துர்ச்சகுனமாகவே கருதுகின்றோம்; நீங்கள்( இத் இலிருந்து) விலகிக் கொள்ளாவிட்டால் உங்களைத் திட்டம் ஆகக் கல்லாலடிப்போம்; மேலும் எம்மிடமிருந்து உங்களை நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையும் பிடித்துக் கொள்ளும்.".

And the people of Nuh! When they belied the apostles We drowned them, and made them a sign unto mankind. And We have gotten ready unto the wrong-doers a torment afflictive.
இன்னும்; நூஹின் சமூத்தவர் அவர்கள்( நம்) தூதர்களைப் பொய்யாக்கிய போது, நாம் அவர்களை மூழ்கடித்தோம்; அவர்களை மனிதர்களுக்கு ஓர் அத்தாட்சிய் ஆகவ் உம் ஆக்கிவைத்தோம்; மேலும் அநியாயக் காரர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனையை நாம் சித்தப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறோம்.

Verily those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and slay the prophets without justice and slay those among men who command equity thou unto them a torment afflictive.
நிச்சயமாக எவர் அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்களை நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டும் நீதமின்றி நபிமார்களைக் கொலை செய்து கொண்டும், மனிதர்களிடத்தில் நீதமாக நடக்கவேண்டும் என்று ஏவுவோரையும் கொலை செய்து கொண்டும் இருக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு நோவினை மிக்க வேதனை உண்டு" என்று( நபியே!) நீர் நன்மாராயங் கூறுவீராக!

Verily those who have disbelieved, if they had all that is in the earth and with it as much again whereby to ransom themselves from the torment on the Day of Judgement, it shall not be accepted of them, and theirs shall be a torment afflictive.
நிச்சயமாக, நிராகரிப்போர்கள்- அவர்களிடம் இப்பூமியிலுள்ள அனைத்தும், இன்னும் அதனுடன் அது போன்றதும் இருந்து, அவற்றை, மறுமையின் வேதனைக்குப் பகரமாக அவர்கள் இழப்பீடாகக் கொடுத்தால் உம், அவர்களிடமிருந்து அவை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்பட மாட்டா. மேலும் அவர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனை உண்டு.

Place not the apostle's calling among you on the same footing as your calling of each other. Of a surety Allah knoweth those who slip away privately; let therefore those who oppose His commandment beware lest there befall them a trial or there befall them a torment afflictive.
உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றொருவரை அழைப்பதுபோல் உங்களுக்கிடையில்( அல்லாஹ்வுடைய) தூதரின் அழைப்பை ஆக்காதீர்கள். உங்கள் இலிருந்து( அவருடைய சபைய் இலிருந்து) எவர் மறைவாக நழுவி விடுகிறார்களோ அவர்களை திடம் ஆக அல்லாஹ்( நன்கு) அறிவான்- ஆகவே எவர் அவருடைய கட்டளைக்கு மாறு செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்கள் தங்களை சோதனை பிடித்துக் கொள்வதையோ, அல்லது தங்களை நோவினை தரும் வேதனை பிடித்துக் கொள்வதையோ அஞ்சிக் கொள்ளட்டும்.

O Ye who believe! verily many of the priests and the monks devour the substances of men in falsehood and hinder People from the way of Allah. And those who treasure up gold and silver and expend them not in the way of Allah-announce thou unto them a torment afflictive.
ஈமான் கொண்டவர்களே! நிச்சயமாக( அவர்களுடைய) பாதிரிகளில் உம், சந்நியாசிகளில் உம் அநேகர் மக்களின் சொத்துக்களைத் தவறான முறையில; சாப்பிடுகிறார்கள்; மேலும் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையை விட்டும்( மக்களைத்) தடுக்கிறார்கள்; இன்னும் எவர்கள் பொன்னையும், வெள்ளியைய் உம் சேமித்து வைத்துக் கொண்டு அவற்றை அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் செலவிடாதிருக்கின்றார்களோ( நபியே!) அவர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனை உண்டு என்று நன்மாராயம் கூறுவீராக!

Unto Him is the return of you all--the promise of Allah is truth. Verily He beginneth the creation, then He shall repeat it, that he may recompense those who believed and did righteous works with equity. And those who disbelieved-- for them shall be draught of boiling water and a torment afflictive for they were wont to disbelieve.
நீங்கள் அனைவரும் அவன் இடம் ஏ மீண்டு செல்ல வேண்டிய் இருக்கிறது; அல்லாஹ்வின் வாக்குறுதி மெய்ய் ஆனது- நிச்சயமாக அவன்தான் முதல் முறையாகப் படைத்தவன்; ஈமான் கொண்டு நேர்மையான முறையில் நற்கருமங்கள் செய்தவர்களுக்கு கூலி வழங்குவதற்க் ஆக படைப்பினங்களை மீ; ண்டும் உயிர்ப்பிப்பான். யார் நிராகரித்து விட்டார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் நிராகரித்த காரணத்தினால் கொதிக்கும் நீரும் நோவினைத் தரும் வேதனையும் உண்டு.

And Musa said: our Lord! verily Thou! Thou hast vouchsafed unto Fir'awn and his chiefs adornment and riches in the life of the world, Our Lord, that they may lead men astray from Thine way. Our Lord! wipe out their riches, and harden their hearts, so that they may not believe until they behold the torment afflictive.
இன்னும்;" எங்கள் இறைவனே! நிச்சயமாக நீ ஃபிர்அவ்னுக்கும் அவனுடைய பிரமுகர்களுக்க் உம் அலங்காரத்தையும், இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையின் செல்வங்களைய் உம் கொடுத்திருக்கிறாய்; எங்கள் இறைவனே!( அவற்றைக் கொண்டு) அவர்கள் உன் பாதையை விட்டு வழி கெடுக்கிறார்கள்; எங்கள் இறைவனே! அவர்களுடைய செல்வங்களை அழித்து, அவர்களுடைய நெஞ்சங்களைய் உம் கடினமாக்கி விடுவாயாக! நோவினை தரும் வேதனையை அவர்கள் பார்க்காதவரையில், அவர்கள் ஈமான் கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள்" என்று மூஸா கூறினார்.

And whosoever findeth not a slave to free on him is the fasting for two months in succession before the twain touch each other, and on him who is not able to do so is the feeding of sixty needy ones. That is in order that ye may believe in Allah and His apostle; and these are the ordinances of Allah. And for the infidels is a torment afflictive.
ஆனால்( அடிமையை விடுதலை செய்ய வசதி) எவர் பெறவில்லையோ, அவர், அவ்விருவர் உம் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் தீண்டுவதற்கு முன் இரண்டு மாதங்கள் தொடர்ச்சியாக நோன்பு நோற்க வேண்டும்; எவர் இதற்க் உம் சக்தி பெறவில்லையோ, அவர் அறுபது ஏழைகளுக்கு உணவு அளித்தல்- வேண்டும், நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீத் உம் அவனுடைய தூதர் மீத் உம் விசுவாசம் கொள்வதற்க் ஆக( இவ்வாறு கட்டளையிடப் பட்ட் உள்ளது). மேலும் இவை அல்லாஹ் விதிக்கும் வரம்புகளாகும், அன்றியும், காஃபிர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனை உண்டு.

And a proclamation is this from Allah and His apostle unto the mankind on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah is quit of the associators, and so is His apostle. Wherefore if ye repent, it shall be better for you, but if ye turn away, then know that ye cannot escape Allah. And announce thou unto those who disbelieve a torment afflictive.
அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் முஷ்ரிக்குகள் உடன்( செய்த் இருந்த உடன்படிக்கையை) விட்டும் நிச்சயமாக விலகிக் கொண்டார்கள் என்பதை ஹஜ்ஜுல் அக்பர்( மாபெரும் ஹஜ்ஜுடைய) நாளில் மனிதர்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ்வும் அவனுடைய தூதரும் வெளிப்படைய் ஆக அறிவிக்கின்றனர்; எனவே நீங்கள்( இணைவைப்பத் இலிருந்து மனந்திருந்தி) விலகிக் கொண்டால் அது உங்களுக்கே நலமாகும்; நீங்கள்( சத்தியத்தை) புறக்கணித்து விட்டால் நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வைத் தோற்கடிக்க முடியாதவர்கள் என்பதை( உறுதிய் ஆக) அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.( நபியே!) நிராகரிப்போருக்கு நோவினை தரும் வேதனை இருக்கிறது என்று நீர் நன்மாராயம் கூறுவீராக.
