Apna Ghar Yojana was introduced by the Company.
In 1934, she established a co-operative store called Apna Ghar Ni Dukan.[2].
It is situated close to the Ghanta Ghar(clock tower), Bazaar Kalan and Gor Khuttree in Peshawar's old walled city.
In 2004, at the behest of Sooraj Barjatya, and with his guidance,[5] she revived the television business which Rajshri had exited in 1984.[6][7] Rajshri's TV division was launched that year, and Kavita, with other members of the family, successfully managed it for over eight years, producing shows like Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki,Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Do Hanson Ka Jodaa and more.[8].
Rani won a Nigar Award for the film Mera ghar meri jannat in 1968.[1] She also won another Nigar Award for best actress for her role in the film Sona Chandi in 1983.[2].
At Zee TV she opted for shows such as Saat Phere, Sailaab, Kasamh Se, Sarrkar, Teen Bahuraaniyaan,Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Ghar ki Lakshmi Betiyaan, Banegi Apni Baat, among several others. She also conceptualized the cult singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge and Lil' Champs before leaving to join Colors.
She has done many other Television shows like Sheeshe Ka Ghar, Waqt Ka Dariya, Daman, Santoshi Ma, Yeh Ghar, Kasamh Se, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, in all these serials, the role of Shivpuri's'Ba' was very famous and Sudha gained a new identity as'Ba' in public.
Pakistani Qawwali musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has claimed thatAnu Malik has copied some of his songs, including"Mera Piya Ghar Aaya" in Yaarana(1995) which was allegedly identical to Khan's song of the same name.[18] Khan was reportedly tolerant towards Malik and other Bollywood music directors plagiarising his songs.
His poetry works include Nazr-e-Butaan, Salaasil, Javidaan,Pichali Pehar, Ghar Angan and Khaak-e-dil. The latter("The Ashes of Heart") was a poetry collection for which he was awarded the 1976 Sahitya Akademi Award in Urdu by Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters.[4].
