Here's a video of us shooting with the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III RXD out in the rain one day.
The Tamron SP 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD is pretty big and bulky, measuring just over 9cms in length and weighing in at 700g.
That grants access to 54 native lenses from Sony, plus more from third parties like Sigma, Tamron, and Zeiss.
But when I considered what the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III RXD is then I didn't mind it all that much.
A plus point of the Nikon's more dated design is that it's smaller and lighter, weighing only half as much as the Tamron and about a third of the weight of Sigma.
The Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III RXD was used with Godox flashes, Orlit monolights, and the Sony a7r III camera.
The Sony 24-70mm f2.8 G Master is much more expensive and does what the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III RXD does slightly better in certain respects.
The Tamron 28-75 mm F/2.8 Di III RXD is designed for excellent image quality and beautiful background blur(bokeh).
Even so, it faces stiff competition from more affordable options in Canon's line-upas well as from strong contenders from Sigma and Tamron.
One of the things that makes the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III RXD so appealing is just how good the image quality is.
In this respect, it's similar to Canon's range-topping EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens, but in our tests the Tamron had the edge for image quality, and it's less expensive to buy.

The lens is sealed against dust and moisture, and though it is a full-frame-compatible lens, it weighs just 350 grams(0.8 pounds),half the weight of the rival Tamron SP 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD.
However, third-party lenses from the likes of Sigma and Tamron often give similar or even better performance than own-brand Canon lenses, and at more competitive prices.
For wide-angle shooting like landscapes, a 14-24mm lens like the Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G IF-ED shown above is a great choice(though, Canon, Rokinon,Sony, Tamron, and others make similar focal length lenses too).
When combined with the Clear orDeep color profile on the Sony a7r III, the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III RXD can deliver super punchy colors that make editing in Capture One Pro after locking your white balance even less of a chore.
The Tamron Vibration Compensation mechanism employs a three-coil system in which three driving coils move internal optical components within the VC lens electromagnetically, based on signals originating from three steel ball bearings.
In the end though after a few weeks using just the 24-70 I purchased thePentax 15-30 based on its reputation in both its Pentax and Tamron variants and because it is a zoom which makes it a more versatile long-term option.
Pre-IFA 2009: Tamron has announced a revised version of its popular 17-50mm F2.8 fast standard zoom for APS-C/DX SLRs, which now incorporates optical image stabilization(or as the company calls it, Vibration Compensation).
Since the launch in 1992 of the 28-200mm(Model 71D) high-power zoom lens- which featured a revolutionary compact, lightweight design- Tamron has been continually expanding its portfolio of world-class optics to benefit consumers.
Di(Digitally Integrated Design) is a Tamron designation that applies to lenses that have been optimized for digital capture using advanced multi-coating techniques and optical designs that assure excellent image quality across the entire picture field.
But that has changed with recent releases, and while the Canon 35L II is twice the price of theSigma(and is thoroughly weather sealed), the Tamron 35mm f/1.8 VC is not only nicely weather sealed but also undercuts the Sigma's price by $300(at least in the US market).

While the size of a lens tends to increase whenit's equipped with an image stabilizer unit, Tamron has kept this lens as compact as possible through improvements to optical, mechanical and VC designs, thus achieving a remarkably compact size with a filter thread of 72mm.
