I should first of all like to join my fellow Members in thanking the rapporteur,Mr Glante, for his extremely amiable, pleasant, very constructive cooperation.
I hope, therefore, that Mr Glante will also be able to secure the support of the Group of the European People's Party(Christian Democrats) and European Democrats for his proposal tomorrow.
I am in favour of giving the Member Statesthe greatest possible freedom, the third way referred to in the Glante amendment, but I am against this European directive as a whole.
I would like to congratulate Mr Glante and everybody who has participated in the various meetings which have taken place on this issue, because it was not an easy issue to understand.
Hoppenstedt(PPE).-(DE) Mr President, the Group of the European People's Party has no difficulty in approving the Glante report, since we have already approved it in the Committee on Economic Affairs.
There is an extremely important point, which Mr Glante has pointed out, which is that in cogeneration they are different concepts, which are hidden depending on the different countries.
