In December 1994 the Committee of Cosponsoring Organizations met for the second time and unanimously recommended Dr. Peter Piot as Executive Director of the programme for a period of two years starting on 1 January 1995, from which time he was to oversee the work of the transition team, including the preparation of the detailed proposal requested by the Council.
The Slovak Republic has helped to raise awareness of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities andits implementation by cosponsoring resolutions connected with the rights of persons with disabilities in the United Nations Human Rights Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations.
In April 2006, the UNAIDS Committee of Cosponsoring Organizations agreed that the approach of the UNAIDS family to HIV and sex work would focus on a unified response and a holistic approach to include prevention, respect for human rights, gender concerns and a package of services.

At the April 2013 meeting of the Committee of Cosponsoring Organizations all heads of agency confirmed their commitment to strategic use of the next 1,000 days to accelerate their efforts and push forward on the MDGs and to support a post-2015 framework that tackles the unfinished business of the MDGs.
Under the agreement, other States, international organizations or national scientific institutions may participate in the project, under three possible formats:(a) cooperation in completion of the development of the Suffa project;(b) participation in providing equipment; or(c)scientific cooperation through cosponsoring future operations of the radio observatory and scientific data-sharing.
Back in June 2002, the delegations of Russia and China,together with a group of cosponsoring States, submitted to the Conference working paper CD/1679," Possible elements for a future international legal agreement on the prevention of the deployment of weapons in outer space, the threat or use of force against outer space objects".
The Ministerial Meeting on Urgent Responses to the HIV/AIDS Epidemics in the Commonwealth of Independent States, organized in Moscow on 31 March and1 April 2005 by UNODC on behalf of the Committee of Cosponsoring Organizations of UNAIDS, agreed on the need to develop and adopt relevant legislation, regulations and financial frameworks ensuring multisectoral implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment programmes among the most vulnerable populations, including prisoners.
Mexico has helped to promote universal adherence to the Protocol by cosponsoring General Assembly resolution 68/193 on strengthening the United Nations crime prevention and criminal justice programme, in particular its technical cooperation capacity, which sets out serious concerns at the negative effects of smuggling of small arms and light weapons on the development, peace and security of States.
Considering that two of our members are part of thecore group of seven Oslo Group countries cosponsoring draft resolution A/65/L.27, which is being submitted under this agenda item today, I can assure the Assembly that the Asian Group stands ready to work closely with its partners in promoting global health around the world and looks forward to seeing the draft resolution adopted without a vote.
