I also note the important work of the new high-level task force on the implementation of the right to development, which provided advisory input this year to the Working Group on the Right to Development, and the discussions at the sixth session of the Working Group in February 2005.
At its latest session, in March/April 1998, the Commission on Human Rights had decided to appoint an independent expert on the right to development, with the mandate to report regularly to the Working Group on the Right to Development on progress in the implementation of that right. .
Recognizing also the valuable contribution made by the independent expert on the right to development in the course of the last six years,through his research and analytical work contained in the series of reports to the Working Group on the Right to Development, which constitute a valuable addition to the understanding of the right to development and approaches to its implementation both at the national and international levels.
