Choose Actions, Create log group.
The log group and the destination must be in the same AWS region.
Choose Create log group to finish.
Each log stream must belong to one log group.
For Log Groups, choose the log group to view the streams.
Use the procedures in this section to work with log groups and log streams.
If log groups, then we are also in use outside of these times.
Type a name for the log group, and choose Create log group.
For Log Groups, choose the name of the log group containing the log stream to search.
The Amazon Resource Name(ARN) for the log group that you want Amazon Route 53 to send query logs to.
A log group is a group of log streams that share the same retention, monitoring, and access control settings.
In the Expire Events After column for that log group, choose the current retention setting, such as Never Expire.
You can specify the access details byselecting$context variables, expressed in a format of your choosing, and by choosing a log group as the destination.
If you exceed your log group limit, you get a ResourceLimitExceeded exception.

When you install the CloudWatch Logs agent on an Amazon EC2 instance using the steps in previous sections of theAmazon CloudWatch Logs User Guide, the log group is created as part of that process.
After you associate a CMK with a log group, all newly ingested data for the log group is encrypted using the CMK.
On the Log Groups screen,select the button next to a log group, and then choose Actions, Export data to Amazon S3.
These users havepermissions to manage the Amazon S3 bucket, the log group for CloudWatch Logs, and an Amazon SNS topic for a trail.
If your log group has multiple log streams, you can provide a log stream prefix to limit the log group data to a specific stream.
To test your filter pattern,for Select Log Data to Test, select the log group to test the metric filter against, and then choose Test Pattern.
All log events uploaded to this log group would be subject to the subscription filter and would be delivered to the chosen Kinesis stream if the filter pattern matches with the log events.
The following example is a template snippet that creates a log group and a metric filter that counts 404 occurrences and sends this count to the log group.
For example, if your log group has 1000 log streams, but you just want to see three log streams that you know are relevant, you can use the AWS CLI to limit your search to only those three log streams within the log group.
After you disassociate a CMK from a log group, CloudWatch Logs stops encrypting newly ingested data for the log group.
Encryption is enabled at the log group level, by associating a CMK with a log group, either when you create the log group or after it exists.
The process includes creating log groups and log streams, and reporting to the log streams any caller's requests and responses.
Amazon CloudWatch will display the log group that you created for CloudTrail events alongside any other log groups you have in a region.
All log events that are uploaded to this log group are filtered and delivered to the specified AWS resource if the filter pattern matches the log events.
