Fill fluid for oxidizing acids.
Industrial pure titanium has high corrosion resistance in neutral andalkaline solutions and oxidizing acids.
One exception, however, are strongly oxidizing acids such as nitric acid. .
For oxidizing acids, it is concluded in the experiment that 304 stainless steel has a strong corrosion resistance in nitric acid below the boiling temperature of the concentration≤65.
Excellent resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids.
It is not useful in oxidizing acids, such as nitric acid and nitrous.
It is inappropriate for use with highly concentrated oxidizing acids.
The stainless alloy resists most oxidizing acids and can withstand all ordinary rusting. However, it will tarnish.
It has excellent resistance to wet chlorine andmixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chlorine ions.
One known exception is highly oxidizing acids such as nitric acid to which the molybdenum-bearing stainless steels are less resistant.
It is not suitable for use with ketones, strong oxidizing acids, esters or aldehydes.
The higher the standard potential of a metal the more noble the metal: Metals with a positive standard potential are, by definition, noble metals, which are not attacked by acids except oxidizing acids.
The iglidur® H1 plainbearings are not resistant against hot, oxidizing acids and some other particularly aggressive chemicals.
This nickel steel alloy also has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media including wet chlorine andmixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chlorine ions.
It has excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids, to stress-corrosion cracking, and to localized attack such as pitting and crevice corrosion.
The measuring cup and very robust funnel have a durable resistance to oils, fuels, solvents, chemicals(not for oxidizing acids and ethers), food, etc.
Incoloy Alloy 925 Bars has outstanding resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids, to stress-corrosion cracking, and to constrained attack such as pitting and crevice corrosion.
It has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media including wet chlorine andmixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chloride ions.
Resistant to water and diluted inorganic acids, but it can be corroded by strong oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid, and it can swell and deform in some organic solvents.
Hastelloy® C-22™ features a good resistance to wet media, such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, nitric acid, chlorine, mixed acid solutions of sulfuric acid and oxidizing acids with chloride ions.
However, strongly oxidizing media such as ozone(O3), hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)or strongly oxidizing acids(concentrated HNO3) decompose the sooty particles so that the electrostatic chargeability is lost.
Never use with:- liquids attacking FEP, PP, PE or EPDM- non-polar solvents like hydrocarbons and halogenated hydrocarbons-concentrated or oxidizing acids- explosive liquids e.g., carbon disulfide.
Hastelloy G-30 is a high chromium nickel-base alloy which has superior corrosion resistance over most other nickel and iron-base alloys in commercial phosphoric acid aswell as many complex environments containing highly oxidizing acids such as nitric/hydrochloric, nitric/hydrofluoric and sulfuric acids. .
Never use with:- liquids attacking PP, PE, AI2O3 ceramic, ETFE, FEP, PFA and PTFE(e.g., dissolved sodium azide*)- liquids attacking borosilicate glass(e.g., hydrofluoric acid)- liquids which are decomposed catalytically by platinum-iridium(e.g., H2O2)- non-polar solvents like hydrocarbons and halogenated hydrocarbons-concentrated or oxidizing acids(excluding HCl)- explosive liquids(e.g., carbon disulfide)- suspensions as solid particles may clog or damage the instrument e.g., of charcoal.
For oxidizing acid, obtained in the experiment, the concentration of 65% or less under the boiling temperature of nitric acid, 304 stainless steel has a strong corrosion resistance.
In addition to the corrosion resistance of oxidizing acid medium, this kind of steel can also resist the corrosion of sulfuric acid, phosphate, formic acid, acetic acid, urea and so on if it contains Mo, Cu and other elements.
Good resistance to the at tack of reducing as well as oxidizing hot acids such as mixtures of nitric, phosphoric and sulphuric acids. .
