Since its launch, eKelas now has more than 4,000 students in terms of class population and also those interacting within the eKelas portal.

Apart from clinching the first and second place for the overall Form Two students in the eKelas English Drama competition, students from Kg Taee also won the festive decoration contest and last year, while eight students from here qualified for the eKelas Holiday Camp held in Kuala Lumpur last year.
Maxis eKelas is on a strong growth momentum, with the flagship community programme now being delivered at 72 Pusat Internet(internet centres) under Maxis' care across 10 states, with over 9,000 students connecting through the programme.
Marking an important milestone in its eKelas journey, Maxis today launched eCikgu, a brand new feature in the eKelas portal that enables students to connect with teachers via a chat forum and encourages greater engagement with teachers.

With the launch of the eKelas portal, Maxis plans to expand eKelas in phases to an additional 25 locations, delivering the programme through a total of 45 PI1Ms nationwide with at least 10,000 students accessing the portal by 2018.

Key features of Maxis eKelas portal include interactive, adaptive, visual-based, experimental capabilities, conceptual understanding and learning-based methodologies, testing and performance measurement services- such as online exams, as well as teacher services like lesson planning, homework assignment, evaluation and reporting.
The eKelas Holiday Camp, which took place from 21-23 November, saw 100 of the most dedicated eKelas students from 24 CBCs nationwide flying into the capital to participate in fun activities, interactive workshops, a visit to Petrosains in KLCC, as well as engagements with teachers and fellow eKelas students from all over the country.
What's more, access to eKelas is‘white-listed,' which means that when customers use the internet to access eKelas, their usage will not be deducted from the monthly internet quota, and they can enjoy unlimited access to eKelas. Parents can also be assured that the eKelas syllabus is fully aligned with that of our national schools,” he continued.
Apart from the eKelas VR use case., Maxis has two more 5G-enabled use cases in Langkawi- Fixed Wireless Access(FWA) stationed at Langkawi International Airport(LIA), showcasing 5G speeds and connectivity to areas with no fixed High Speed Broadband, and Smart Agriculture, in collaboration with Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute(MARDI) to enable precision agriculture by Maxis NB-IoT for grape crops.
