Tealive is a homegrown brand that we have always proudly described as‘Born in Malaysia, Raised for the World', and, indeed we have.
Barely six months after the birth of Tealive, we took the brand to Vietnam and now have five outlets.
Loo said Tealive served 2.5 million consumers each month in its 175 outlets and the brand was still expanding every week.

According to The Sun Daily, Tealive operates 161 outlets nationwide and the demise of Tealive in Malaysia will affect 800 staffs.
The Court of Appeal said that the franchise agreement andthe Franchise Act both state that the franchisee(Tealive) cannot carry on a competing business after terminating the franchise agreement.
In short, the legal implication of the Court of Appeal's decision is that Tealive will have to immediately cease to operate their outlets and any other businesses that may be in competition with Chatime- if Tealive does not comply with the court's order, they could be held in contempt of court.
