ALL AMENDMENTS TO THE ANNEX SHALL BE MADE BY REASON OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE.
Whereas the development of scientific and technical knowledge makes necessary certain amendments to the Annex to Directive 79/117/EEC;
Whereas Directive 79/117/EEC provided for the contents of its Annex to be regularly amended to take account of the development of scientific and technical knowledge;
Whereas the development of scientific and technical knowledge makes necessary certain amendments to the Annex to Directive 79/117/EEC;
Whereas that Directive provides for the contents of the Annex to be regularly amended to take account of the development of scientific and technical knowledge;
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge it is appropriate to reduce the minimum germination capacity of pure seed to 80%;
In order toensure the proper operation of the Community type-approval process there is a need to update Annex IX to Directive 2007/46/EC in order to adapt it to the development of scientific and technical knowledge.
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, Annexes I and II to Directive 66/401/EEC should be amended for the reasons set out hereafter;
The group or natural or legal person referred to in Article 5(1) and(2) may request amendment of the specification for a name registered under Articles 12a and 12b,in particular to take account of the development of scientific and technical knowledge or to revise the geographical zone.
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, Annexes I, II and III to the said Directive should be amended for the reasons set out below;
Whereas an appropriate Community procedure is essential to adapt the provisions of the Annex and the guidelines laid down for the submission of dossiers relating to certain products and, where necessary, to fix criteria of composition and purity as well as the physico-chemical and biological properties of these products in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge;
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, Directives 66/401/EEC, 69/208/EEC and 70/458/EEC should be amended for the reasons set out hereafter;
Whereas by Directive 88/506/EEC(3)the Commission declared that, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge it was appropriate to reduce, for varieties of oats of the'naked oat' type, the minimum germination capacity of 85% of pure seed laid down for oats in Annex II to Directive 66/402/EEC to 75%;
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, Annexes I and II to Directives 66/401/EEC and 69/208/EEC should be amended for the reasons set out below;
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, Annex I to the said Directive should be amended in order to adapt the conditions to be satisfied by crops of Sorghum species;
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, Annexes I and II to Directive 66/401/EEC, Annex III to Directive 66/402/EECand Annex II to Directive 69/208/EEC should be amended for the reasons set out below;
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, it is therefore appropriate to reduce, for varieties of oat of the'naked oat' type, the minimum germination capacity of 85% of pure seed laid down for oats in Annex II to Directive 66/402/EEC;
Whereas in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, Annexes IIand III to the said Directive should be amended in order to adapt the conditions to be satisfied by the seed and the lot and sample weights of Festulolium species;
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, amendments were made to Annexes Iand II to Directives 66/401/EEC and 69/208/EEC by Directive 82/287/EEC, including amendments relating to the varietal purity of seeds of Poa spp;
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge concerning the hybrids resulting from the crossing of species covered by Directive 66/402/EEC, the hybrids resulting from the crossing of Sorghum bicolor and Sorghum sudanense should, owing to their increased importance in the Community, be included in the scope of the Directive;
Whereas in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge concerning the hybrids resulting from the crossing of species covered by Directive 66/401/EEC, the hybrids resulting from the crossing of Festuca pratensis Huds. with Lolium multiflorum Lam. should, owing to their increased importance in the Community, be included in the scope of the said Directive;
Whereas, in the light of the development of scientific and technical knowledge, Annex II to Directive 66/401/EEC and Annex II to Directive 69/208/EEC should be amended so as to improve the standards to be satisfied by seed of certain fodder plant species and certain oil and fibre plant species in respect of the maximum content of seed of Rumex spp. other than Rumex acetosella and, in the case of the fodder plant species, Rumex maritimus;
Whereas that Directive provides for the contents of the Annex to be regularly amended to take account of the developments of scientific and technical knowledge;
Whereas Directive 79/117/EEC provides for the contents of the Annex thereto to be regularly amended to take account of the developments of scientific and technical knowledge;
On submission of the first report, the Commission shall indicate in particular the features which should be reviewed ordeveloped in the light of developments in scientific and technical knowledge, including the development of internationally agreed rules and standards on products,and shall pay special heed to.
Subsequent amendments to the identification note as a result of developments in scientific and technical knowledge.
This Decision shall re-examined before 1 January 1996 in order to take account of developments in scientific and technical knowledge.
On the basis of developments in scientific and technical knowledge the manner of use and amounts used can be modified.
In accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 13 and in the light of developments in scientific and technical knowledge.
