And We vouchsafed Unto Da-ud Sulaiman. How excellent a bondman! j Verily he was oft-returning.'.
اور ہم نے داؤد کو سلیمان عطا کیا کیسا اچھا بندہ تھا بےشک وہ رجوع کرنے والا تھا

But fear God: For God is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
اللہ سے ڈرو، اللہ بڑا توبہ قبول کرنے والا اور رحیم ہےالحجرات

Except those who repent and make amends and openly declare(the Truth): To them I turn; for I am Oft-returning, Most Merciful.
مگر وہ جو توبہ کریں اور سنواریں اور ظاہر کریں تو میں ان کی توبہ قبول فرماؤں گا اور میں ہی ہوں بڑا توبہ قبول فرمانے والا مہربان

And the birds also, gathering all oft-returning onto Him on his account.
اور پرندے جمع کیے ہوئے سب اس کے فرمانبردار تھے

And take in thine hand a handful of twigs, and strike therewith, and break not thine oath. Verily We! We found him patient. How excellent a bondman! Verily he was oft-returning.
اور اپنے ہاتھ میں جھاڑو لو اور اس سے مارو اور قسم نہ توڑو۔ بےشک ہم نے ان کو ثابت قدم پایا۔ بہت خوب بندے تھے بےشک وہ رجوع کرنے والے تھے

Turn to us; truly you are Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
ہماری توبہ قبول فرما، بیشک تو توبہ قبول کرنے والا اور نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے

At-Tawwaab(the Oft-Returning): The One Who is continuously turning(in forgiveness) to those that turn to Him(in repentance), Who forgives the sins of the penitent.
(۲۸)۔التواب‘ وقابل التوب۔توبہ قبول کرنے والا‘ گنہگار کے گناہوں سے درگزر کرنے والا‘ توبہ کرنے والوں کی طرف دوبارہ رجوع ہونے والا

For Abraham was forbearing, tender-hearted and oft-returning to God.
بیشک ابراہیم بہت ہی دردمند اور خدا کی طرف رجوع کرنے والے تھے

And the birds also, gathering all oft-returning onto Him on his account.
اور پرندوں کو بھی جو(اُن کے پاس) جمع رہتے تھے، ہر ایک ان کی طرف(اطاعت کے لئے) رجوع کرنے والا تھا

If two men among you are guilty of lewdness, punish them both. If they repent and amend, Leave them alone; for Allah is Oft-returning, Most Merciful.
اور جو دو مرد تم میں سے بدکاری کریں تو ان کو ایذا دو۔ پھر اگر وہ توبہ کرلیں اور نیکوکار ہوجائیں تو ان کا پیچھا چھوڑ دو۔ بےشک خدا توبہ قبول کرنے والا(اور) مہربان ہے

If it were not for Allah's grace and mercy on you, and that Allah is Oft-Returning, full of Wisdom,-(Ye would be ruined indeed).
اور اگر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت تم پر نہ ہوتی اور یہ کہ اللہ توبہ قبول فرماتا حکمت والا ہے

And We did not send any apostle but that he should be obeyed by Allah's permission; and had they, when they were unjust to themselves, come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Apostle had(also) asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Oft-returning(to mercy), Merciful.
اور ہم نے کوئی پیغمبر نہیں بھیجا مگر اس لئے کہ اللہ کے حکم سے اس کی اطاعت کی جائے، اور(اے حبیب!) اگر وہ لوگ جب اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کر بیٹھے تھے آپ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو جاتے اوراللہ سے معافی مانگتے اور رسول(صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھی ان کے لئے مغفرت طلب کرتے تو وہ(اس وسیلہ اور شفاعت کی بنا پر) ضرور اللہ کو توبہ قبول فرمانے والا نہایت مہربان پاتے

If they repent and amend, Leave them alone; for God is oft-returning, Most Merciful"(emphasis inserted).
اگر وہ توبہ اور اصلاح کرلیں تو ان سے منہ پھیر لو بیشک اللہ تعالیٰ توبہ قبول کرنے والا ہے اور رحم کرنے والا ہے

We sent not a messenger, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful.
اور ہم نے کوئی پیغمبر نہیں بھیجا مگر اس لئے کہ اللہ کے حکم سے اس کی اطاعت کی جائے، اور(اے حبیب!) اگر وہ لوگ جب اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کر بیٹھے تھے آپ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو جاتے اوراللہ سے معافی مانگتے اور رسول(صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھی ان کے لئے مغفرت طلب کرتے تو وہ(اس وسیلہ اور شفاعت کی بنا پر) ضرور اللہ کو توبہ قبول فرمانے والا نہایت مہربان پاتے

And if they repent and amend, then leave them alone; surely ALLAH is Oft-Returning with compassion and is ever Merciful.
اگر وہ توبہ اور اصلاح کرلیں تو ان سے منہ پھیر لو بیشک اللہ تعالیٰ توبہ قبول کرنے والا ہے اور رحم کرنے والا ہے

(He turned in mercy also) to the three who were left behind;(they felt guilty) to such a degree that the earth seemed constrained to them, for all its spaciousness, and their(very) souls seemed straitened to them,- and they perceived that there is no fleeing from Allah(and no refuge) but to Himself. Then He turned to them, that they might repent: for Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
اوراللہ نے ان تینوں پر بھی رحم کیا جو جہاد سے پیچھے رہ گئے یہاں تک کہ زمین جب اپنی وسعتوں سمیت ان پر تنگ ہوگئی اور ان کے دم پر بن گئی اور انہوں نے یہ سمجھ لیا کہ ا ب اللہ کے علاوہ کوئی پناہ گاہ نہیں ہے تواللہ نے ان کی طرف توجہ فرمائی کہ وہ توبہ کرلیں اس لئے کہ وہ بڑا توبہ قبول کرنے والا اور مہربان ہے

بے شک ابراھیم بردبار نرم دل اور الله کی طرف رجوع کرنے والا تھا

And remember Moses said to his people:"O my people! Ye have indeed wronged yourselves by your worship of the calf: So turn(in repentance) to your Maker, and slay yourselves(the wrong-doers); that will be better for you in the sight of your Maker." Then He turned towards you(in forgiveness): For He is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
اور(وہ وقت یاد کرو) جب(موسیٰ نے اپنی قوم سے کہا) اے میری قوم! یقینا تم نے گو سالہ کو(معبود) بنا کر اپنی جانوں پر بڑا ظلم کیا ہے۔ لہٰذا تم اپنے خالق کی بارگاہ میں(اس طرح) توبہ کرو۔ کہ اپنی جانوں کو قتل کرو۔ یہی(طریقہ کار) تمہارے خالق کے نزدیک تمہارے لئے بہتر ہے۔ اس صورت میں اس نے تمہاری توبہ قبول کی۔ بے شک وہ بڑا توبہ قبول کرنے والا، نہایت رحم والا ہے

کیا انہیں علم نہیں کہ اللہ ہی اپنے بندوں کی توبہ قبول کرتا ہے اور صدقات بھی وصول کرتا ہے اور یہ کہ اللہ بڑا توبہ قبول کرنے والا، رحم کرنے والا ہے

But they who repent and amend and openly declare the truth, it is these to whom I turn with forgiveness, and I am Oft-Returning with compassion and Merciful.
ہاں جو توبہ کرتے ہیں اور اپنی حالت درست کرلیتے اور(احکام الہیٰ کو) صاف صاف بیان کردیتے ہیں تو میں ان کے قصور معاف کردیتا ہوں اور میں بڑا معاف کرنے والا(اور) رحم والا ہوں﴿۱۶۰
