At its meeting held in Vienna from 29 to 31 August 2007, the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on Review of the Implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption reiterated the call for the Secretariat to present to the Conference at its second session the analysis of information received through the self-assessment checklist CAC/COSP/2008/3, para. 51.

As an analysis of information received has shown, in most of those cases criminal proceedings were instituted under article 118(Knowingly unlawful short-term or pretrial detention), article 332(Exceeding of authority) and article 333(Abuse of power) of the Criminal Code.
Chapter IV addresses the question of domestic violence and other forms of violence against women in the family,based essentially on the analysis of information received by the Special Rapporteur in reply to a note verbale of 29 July 1994, sent to Governments, United Nations organs, bodies and specialized agencies, as well as non-governmental organizations and women's groups.
However, the analysis of information received and the interviews conducted highlighted that there is no clear distinction between individual consultants and other non-staff personnel(usually designated as"individual contractors" or"service contractors") hired to perform functions and tasks similar to those of regular staff.

The completion of additional country reviews, in the meantime,provides an opportunity for updated briefings on the analysis of information received in the context of the reviews of implementation of chapter IV of the Convention, conducted within the framework of the ongoing first cycle of the Mechanism for the Review of Implementation of the Convention, with a view to allowing the meeting to make recommendations to the Conference on follow-up actions required for ensuring the full implementation of chapter IV.
