During the twenty-fourth session, from 10 to 14 August 2009,the Subcommission held three meetings with the delegation of Barbados, on 10, 12 and 14 August 2009, at which the delegation made a number of presentations and the Subcommission made two presentations addressing several outstanding issues. On 14 August, the Subcommission received a table of revised fixed points defining the continental shelf of Barbados, as well as new material for its consideration.
The delegation of Barbados also included Christopher Hackett, Permanent Representative of Barbados to the United Nations, and a number of scientific, legal and technical advisers.
It was also decided that any meeting with the delegation of Barbados may be tentatively scheduled during the week of 10 to 14 August 2009, should such a meeting be deemed useful by the Subcommission to expedite its work, or required by the delegation. .
The delegation of Barbados recognized the efforts of OHCHR in providing Member States, especially small delegations like itself, with information and guidance in preparing for the follow-up process to the universal periodic review.
On 10 April 2012, the delegation of Barbados, headed by Leonard Nurse, made a presentation to the Commission pursuant to paragraph 15.1 bis of annex III to the Rules of Procedure of the Commission.
