In line with these decisions, the Working Group considered document TRANS/SC.1/AC.6/2002/3 which contained a proposal for an introduction with cross references for the new Appendix 1B to the AETR on requirements for the construction, testing,installation and inspection of the digital control device in road transport.

The secretariat clarified that Article 22bis of the AETR Agreement was restricted to the amendment of Appendix 1B Requirements for the construction, testing,installation and inspection of the digital control device used in road transport.
The Committee noted that Appendix 1B(about 300 pages) of the Annex to the AETR, related to the requirements for construction, testing,installation and inspection of the digital control device used in road transport(digital tachograph), had been transmitted to the United Nations relevant services for translation into Russian language.

Such Contracting Parties shall keep the secretariat of the Working Party on Road Transport of the Economic Commission for Europe informed of progress in the introduction of the digital control device in conformity with Appendix 1B to this Annex within its territory.
There shall be an Administrative Committee that shall be responsible for deciding on amendments to Appendix 1B of the Annex to the AETR, Requirements for construction, testing, installation,and inspection of the digital control device used in road transport, based in Geneva.
