He agreed with Mr. Herndl that expediting the drafting of such important documents was not always advisable.
Mr. Herndl congratulated the delegation on the completeness of its report, which addressed all the issues mentioned in the Convention.
After an exchange of views with Mr. Herndl, Mr. Thornberry proposed that the phrase"monitoring that the deadlines are respected by the State party", in the fourth and fifth lines, be replaced by"monitoring respect by the State party for the deadlines.
Mr. Herndl welcomed the adoption by the Slovak Parliament of the antidiscrimination act, which had entered into force in July 2004.
