In particular, in his report on progress and impact assessment of management improvement measures(A/62/69), the Secretary-General noted efficiency examples such as the implementation of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Telecommunications network which had led to increased automated payments and lower bank charges, and the use of automation techniques to improve final consolidated financial statements.
The Committee had taken note with appreciation of the report of the Secretary-General on the progress and impact assessment of management improvement measures(A/60/70), encouraged the Secretary-General to develop further an approach conducive to a genuine improvement of United Nations management, taking due account of the Organization's realities and needs, and requested the Department of Management, together with all relevant departments and offices, to continue efforts in that regard.
