Article 14: The right to fair and adequate compensation 239- 243 54.
Article 14 ensures that the victim of an act of torture has the right to fair and adequate compensation.
Violations of the right to fair and adequate compensation within a reasonable time and other rights of victims of such acts;

Kazakh legislation contains norms guaranteeing victims of enforced disappearance reparation and the right to fair and adequate compensation, as well as the means and conditions for as full rehabilitation as possible, which encompass restitution, rehabilitation and satisfaction, including restoration of dignity and reputation.
Failure to prevent and punish acts of torture, prompt and impartial investigation,right to complain, right to fair and adequate compensation- articles 1, 12, 13 and 14.
The Committee refers to its general comment No. 3(2012) and recalls that article 14 of the Convention recognizes not only the right to fair and adequate compensation but also requires States parties to ensure that the victim of an act of torture obtains redress.
The answers given in the preceding pages contain updated information concerning effective measures adopted by the Peruvian State in response to its obligation to proceed to prompt and impartial investigations, to ensure that complaints by prisoners are impartially examined, that complainants and witnesses are protected against all intimidation, and that victims have the right to fair and adequate compensation. Also statements obtained as a result of torture are to be considered without effect.
