We congratulate the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on terrorism, Mr. Rohan Perera, on successfully guiding the work of the Committee in concluding the Nuclear Terrorism Convention.
At its 3012th meeting, on 29 May 2009, the Commission established a Study Group on The Most-Favoured-Nation clause, co-chaired by Mr. Donald M. McRae andMr. A. Rohan Perera.
We also pay tribute to the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee, Ambassador Rohan Perera of Sri Lanka, for his astute guidance and leadership of the work of the Committee and for his role in leading us to this success.
I should like also to thank all of those who, through their untiring work over recent years, have contributed towards this success, particularly Mr. Albert Hoffman, who was mentioned earlier, andthe president of the Ad Hoc Committee, Mr. Rohan Perera.
The Chairman also believed that Ambassador Rohan Perera, Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee, was willing to assume the chair of the working group and that there would be general support for his doing so.
Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 58/81, the Committee established a working group to continue the work of the Ad Hoc Committee on Measures to Eliminate International Terrorism andelected Ambassador Rohan Perera(Sri Lanka) as Chairman of the Working Group.
A Study Group, co-chaired by Mr. Donald M. McRae andMr. A. Rohan Perera, was established at the sixty-first session(2009), and reconstituted at the sixty-second session(2010), under the same co-chairmanship.
On the recommendation of the Ad Hoc Committee established by General Assembly resolution 51/210 of 17 December 1996(terrorism), the Committee established a Working Group to continue the work of the Ad Hoc Committee, andelected Mr. Rohan Perera(Sri Lanka) as Chairperson.
The Committee also elected Mr. Rohan Perera(Sri Lanka) as Chair of the Working Group. The Working Group is open to all Member States of the United Nations and members of specialized agencies or of the International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA.
On the recommendation of the Ad Hoc Committee established by General Assembly resolution 51/210 of 17 December 1996(terrorism), the Sixth Committee established a Working Group to continue the work of the Ad Hoc Committee, andelected Mr. Rohan Perera(Sri Lanka) as Chairperson.
The Study Group, co-chaired by Mr. Donald M. McRae andMr. A. Rohan Perera, was established at the sixty-first session(2009), and was reconstituted at the sixty-second(2010) and sixty-third(2011) sessions, under the same co-chairmanship.
The Committee, pursuant to General Assembly resolution 59/46, also established a working group to continue the work of the Ad Hoc Committee established by General Assembly Resolution 51/210 of 17 December 1996(terrorism) andelected H.E. Mr. Rohan Perera(Sri Lanka) as its Chairman.
Pursuant to General Assembly resolutions 51/210 and 54/110, the Committee reestablished a Working Group to continue the work of the Ad Hoc Committee established by resolution 51/210 andelected Mr. Rohan Perera(Sri Lanka) to chair this Working Group and decided that the Working Group, like the Ad Hoc Committee, would be open to all States members of the United Nations, members of specialized agencies or of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Allow us to reiterate our appreciation to all of those delegations and representatives that participated in the process and spared no effort to ensure the completion of this Convention, especially the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committeeestablished by resolution 51/210, Mr. Rohan Perera, and the members of his Bureau.
