In the Vienna Living Forest Summit Declaration, signed at the Fourth Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe(2003),the Signatory States and the European Community committed themselves to endorse the use of the"Improved Pan-European Indicators for Sustainable Forest Management as adopted by the MCPFE Expert Level Meeting, 7-8 October 2002, Vienna, Austria.
